  • Too much olive oil?

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask whether it matters that I don't pay attention to the percentages of fat/protein/carbs as long as I eat the right food.
(When I first started Atkins I didn't know about that -I don't think I noticed it anywhere in the book- and when I re-started, I kept not counting them).
I usually eat 3 meals a day, so I eat the required amount of vegetables, and my only source of fat is olive oil which I use liberally. Is there anything wrong with that?

    Thanks

    Re: Too much olive oil?

I think if you eat according to plan, and eat to satisfy your hunger, your figures shouldn't be too far off.
Having said that, I know what you mean about using olive oil liberally. Living in Italy and producing my own olive oil, I find that my fat percentages are always a little on the high side. But I do keep an eye on the percentages, without stressing too much about them.

A good way of keeping tally is by having a Fitday account where you can enter the foods you eat: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/Index.html

Fat is your friend on this diet, that's very true...but it is also particularly calorically "heavy", so if you really overdo it, it will affect your weight loss.
If you eat to satisfy your hunger though, and no more, you should be ok.
