ok...so everyone knows...Ive been on atkins 3 years ago...Had an AMAZING weight loss of 80 pounds in about 2 1/2 months... I had time to work out, so i did about 2-3 hours a day....

Now, that ive had a baby, i workout about 1h a day..Im eating the same things i was eating my first time around....I drink MOOOORE then enuf water.... And ive been back on it, for about 2 months now, and ive only lost 16 pounds....... very very disapointing...

Difference in between the 2 times, my workout, and i used to cheat the diet every 2 weeks my first time aroudn... this time i havent... I need some advice on how to kick up my weightloss.... I really wanna be my pre pregnant size before the summer... I have a wedding and it would be great....

I still have 40 pounds to go for that.... Pllllease someone help me before I quit...and i dont want to do that........

16 lbs is great! You should be proud of yourself!

I am in the same position as you. I had a baby (September) and my weight has not been coming off like my first pregnancy. I also have 2 weddings to be in this coming summer! I almost feel like it's my hormones or something in my body that is not allowing me to lose weight as easily as I did in the past before having babies.

What kind of workout are you doing? Is it too intense and not in your fat-burning zone? Are you still eating induction or have you moved on? Maybe going back into induction for a little will help, OR vice versa, add more carbs. If my advice isn't that great, i'm sure someone else will be more helpful!

Well good luck with the rest of your goal. It will come, don't worry!

You have to keep in mind that you are three years older now. "They" always say that as you age it becomes more difficult for weight loss. Not sure if three years would make a difference or not. When I was in my early 20s(without children) it was easy to lose weight. Could exercise for hours, tons of time to think about food choices, etc. Are you filling in fitday or writitng down what you eat? Sometimes I eat just out of habit and not because of being hungry. For instance when my youngest is having a temper tantrum, being annoying, etc I will often grab for a snack and comfort eat.

Oh, Im stickin to induction, thats what I had did the first time on it... And, i do taebo, go on my treadmill, do my crunches n all that good stuff...
And I am happy I lost 16 pounds, but i just think its such a big difference from my first time around... When i got pregnant, i stopped atkins, becuz i wanted to give more nutrients, like fruits n stuff to my baby, and i honestly dont think atkins would be good when yur pregnant, so, i gained like 60 pounds back... baaah! Anyways.... I just want it all goooone =(

I just had a baby December 7 2006 he's only 3 months "today". I think i would see a bigger loss if i was not a new momma. I don't get time to exercise everyday & i'm getting older. Babies can make it harder to lose. I think it sounds WONDERFUL you lost 16 pounds "you have to keep in mind you only have a lil more to lose 40 pounds". Starting I had 100 to lose when you start adkins BIGGER i've seen it looks like you lose more faster then when you have 50 or less to lose. YOU CAN DO IT 16 pounds sounds AWSOME TO ME doctors recomend just 1-2 pounds a week you sound like your getting that. This was my 4th pregnancy also.

The others are right - 16 pounds in 2 months is a great rate of loss for someone with about 50 pounds in total to lose

Are you going to move into OWL this time, Kiwifraise or stay on induction levels till goal?

Many people report better losses if they dont stay too long on induction eating, and Dr Atkins tells us we should move to the third phase of Atkins (premaintenance) and slow the loss of our last few pounds to increase our chances of being able to maintain our goal weight when we move to the final phase of Atkins (maintenance)

Actually you didnt have to stop eating Atkins while pregnant and nursing, the maintenance phase of Atkins, eating whole foods of all sorts including fruits and grains but not sugar is recommended for expectant and nursing mothers and many of our members have healthy babies and happy pregnancies eating Atkins maintenance.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

              Re: soooo mad!!

First off, great job on the 16lbs. That is 2 lbs a week and you really cant get better than that as far as health goes. The 80 lbs in two and a half months is crazy fast. Its hard for me even to imagine weight loss that rapid. You were not doing your body any favors when you dropped the weight that fast. Although for most it sounds like a dream come true. It sounds like you just need to relax and just keep doing what you are doing. I know nobody wants to hear this but it is very true. The slower the weight comes off the more likely it will stay off. Try not to be so hard on yourself. Two pounds a week is fantastic!
