  • week 3 induction question?

I decided to stay on induction because i HAD 100 to lose. I lost 10-12 the 1st 2 weeks. Tommorw will be the last day of week 3 start of week 4 I weighed today 1st thing in the am ...NO LOSS AT ALL !!!ALL WEEK!!!. I will 100% still stick to this i feel better i have awsome energy. Even if i don't lose more i'm glad i've stoped gaining. I knew going in the loss would SLOW but, i was assured it would still be between 1-3 pounds a week. I've eat the EXACT same I still fitday everything I measure my foods TONS of water and exercise. I had my TOM on day 5 of induction so that's not the cause of this stall. No caffine no sugar not A SINGLE CHEAT. What's a girl to do?

Keep pushing on Jen!! It'll budge, don't fret. I would however revisit the idea of moving out of induction and onto OWL. Basically you're only adding 5 more carbs, veggies rung one, you'll stay on the run until you find what works for you. I lost the majority of my weight after making the leap (I was scared) to OWL. Lots of people seem to be itimidated by OWL, really its just more variety for you! I think you will be happy that you did!

Ummm.. can I ask who assured you of this?? A lot of people experience what's known as Post-Induction Stall Syndrome (PISS). Basically, it's your body regrouping after losing a lot of weight in a short period of time and preparing itself to lose more. In all fairness, you've still been losing an average of 3-4 pounds/week which is pretty decent. Just keep drinking your water and do what you've been doing (or you have the option of moving on to Rung 1 and adding more veggies in), and it'll pass.

Yes... don't fret the halt in weight loss... it'll pick up again for sure as long as you're on plan and eating to satisfy your hunger only. Scooter gave you good advice. You could move to OWL rung 1, add more veggies and hang there until you want to move on. Many many people find that the extra veggies get weight loss started again after an induction slowdow/halt.

Don't be afraid of OWL... it's great.

I have been known to go 3 weeks with no weight loss. Just stick with it and then woosh, it'll come off!

Keep your chin up 12 lbs is amazing compared to my mere 4 lbs on induction, soon as I moved to OWL I started loosing a tad bit more. 3 months in and I have lost 15 lbs, I am a very slow looser. Just keep trudging on and you will make it!!
            Good luck!

thanks a bunch everyone!. This board is sooo sooo very handy i'm so glad i found it when i started ATKINS. The one thing i can think of i might need to cut is my ONE A DAY caffine free diet coke. I don't mind the lots of water i was allowing the one diet coke the 1st 2 weeks with no problem. I might need to cut that this week see if it makes a diffrence. I don't know if i have a reaction to sweetners i never used splenda and caffine diet coke before this.

Have you read Moochiecat's post about the fact that weightloss is not linear?
                http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=5090
It is worth reading it to be reassured that none of us have a regular weightloss pattern even when we are working our Atkins according to the rules
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Dont forget that you might be losing inches in stead of weight.Just keep that in mind.Just dont worry too much about it.It will melt off.....just think about when you go to try on thosejeans you have not worn in years.....and...they fit.....but the scales seems to be stuck.Just keep reminding yourself that the scale doesnt matter ; it is all about how you feel.
                  Do you feel great?
