  • No Energy!

    Hi

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced a drop in their energy levels?

I'm half way through week 6 and for the last week or so my energy levels have plummeted leaving me exhausted, even first thing in the morning I have no energy and can barely drag myself to work!

I was just wondering if this is normal and will energy pick up again...or maybe it's my eating that's wrong, although I'm not doing anything different from what I was before!

    Thanks

    Janet

    xx

    Re: No Energy!

Just a thought... check your exercise routine. Sometimes if I exercise say 5-6 days in a row it's fine for a week, maybe even 2, but then the 3-4 week, my enery also plummets. I think it is just my body needing an extra days "rest". So I try and listen to my body. Then again, you could just be coming down with the flu or something.
Believing in yourself is not a vanity, it's a necessity!
God wants to take care of your problems for you.

      Re: No Energy!

I have a couple of days in a row when I have no energy what so every - and I'm yet to discover what causes it!!

Super30's could be right - it could well be down to too much exercise!!

I have the odd weekend off from exercise and just "chill out" on the sofa watching films!! hehe!! that normally does the trick!!!

I hope you're feeling more energetic soon

        Hi Janet,

As well exercis efactors, it could also be that you need to move up the carb ladder? Or perhaps aim to eat more calories. Last time I had an energy slump it was because I wasn't eating enough, so I started to eat more carbs and I felt much better and lost weight faster too.

Fitday can be really useful for looking at how many calories you are burning compared to how many you're eating. I know we don't count calories, but it is good to make sure that the gap between the two isn't too big. For example, if I burned 2250 calories overall I try to eat at least 1800.

Hope you get some more energy soon

          Hi

          Thanks for the replies everyone!

I suppose it could be exercise related as I have a fairly physical job...I'm also thinking it may be stress related as my job is very stressful at the moment!
I work with kids who have profound mental and physical disabilities and the particular child I work with all the time has severe behaviour issues and she is extremely aggresive most of the time...which means I am constantly dodging blows, nips and slaps!

I think my veg intake may have gone down a little over the last week or so too...so that could probably be a factor!

          Thanks again

Are you taking your supplements? Maybe you are lacking in something and just need that little extra.

Ooops! I must admit I do forget to take them sometimes! I guess that could be one of the problems...I upped my food intake as much as I could yesterday so maybe the extra cals will help a bit too!

Note to self!!...Remember to take multivitamin & mineral supplemements!

                  Re: No Energy!

Hi Nixgirl, I've hit that bump in the road too. I've been doing Atkins since Jan 1 07. I've took the advice of everyone and upped my calorie intake, and also started taking potassium. I feel a little better but I'm still fatigued. I gonna experiment some more, I don't even feel like exercising! I bought a treadmill and its just been sitting there this past 2 weeks! Maybe it won't take too long before our bodies get back on track.
If you find out what is making you feel this way please write back so I will know what to try and I will do the same. Good luck on feeling better!

                    Hi Brenda

I'm trying a few different tactics at the moment...increased calories, increased veg and remembering to take my supplements...hopefully one of these will work...or maybe a combination of the 3!

I'll update you on any developments...good or bad!

                    Janet
