Re: Trying not to get discouraged! Help!

    Impossible to say, Jennifer
but if you can manage to stay onplan from now on and drink your water as well as up your exercise you can minimise any damage you might have done to your weightlosses.

Next time dont eat the tacos!!

Some people make sure they eat a 'legal' meal beforehand if they know they are going to be faced with off-plan food choices, so they can honestly say 'I am not hungry' and perhaps just eat a little of the meat and leave the tacos on the plate.

It is easier to turn food down if you have already eaten.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Trying not to get discouraged! Help!

I agree that you just need to get back on plan. Let me confess something. I was discouraged and frustrated and fell off the wagon in a big way for the first time in 5 weeks. I had beer at the hockey game then waffles (Waffle House) after! I got back on strict induction, to the "T" the next morning. I gained 3 pounds (which I'd actually been bouncing back and forth from before the screw up already). So I had to re-lose it which took me all week. So basically, I'm okay, but it's kind of a 'wasted week'. I spent it undoing the damage. Hopefully it won't take you that long since you didn't blow it out of the water like I did!! You'll be fine though.

I am right there with you! I lost about 20 lbs and then....NOTHING! I have gained and lost the same 5 lbs for 4 weeks. I don't dare move up from extended induction because I am afraid I will continue to gain weight. But I just stick to the plan and keep believing that one of these days I will step on the scale and **POW** 5 lbs gone!

        1st mini goal- 225 lbs.-Done!
        2nd mini goal-199 lbs.-Done!
        3rd mini goal-189 lbs.-Done!
        4th mini goal- 179 lbs.

Re: Trying not to get discouraged! Help!

          hey,

It is happening to me too......my Induction phase actually finished 2 days ago but i have decided to stick to Induction for a while. The 1st week i lost a little over 6lbs and STOP i have not lost since. OK, Honestly i have not been good with my exercising but i'm getting there. My TOM was due on the 11th and still nothing so i'm hoping that this halt is due to water retention that happens before and during these days......!!

I have read the book and gone through it so many times, i find my self eating more than i ever did before, but i am not sure if i'm eating enough or not. I have tried to use fitday.com but I'm finding it difficult cause its not really straight forward. For exp - i tried to find to find pork back bacon - on my pkt it says that its 0.9 carbs per slice and i found nothing close to that total. I'm a fussy eater but i have not cheated on the induction so i hope i'm eating right.....cause i read somewhere in one of the threads that even though we can eat as much as we want from protein and cheese we have to calculate that the fat does not exceed 65% if i'm correct.

i need to talk discuss my menu's to see if i'm doing it all wrong.

          catch u later

Re: Trying not to get discouraged! Help!

I would be very willing to bet that TOM is causing that stop. Even when I was doing WW, they said that you can gain 4-6 pounds then!! I also read in a few places that even tho calories are not supposed to count, if you're eatting 2500 and your base metabolism is 2400 or some such, even though you're now a fat burning machine, you are eatting more then you're burning. So I'm watching that now as well just to keep it in my set range of 500'ish below my BMR. The scale is starting to move again, though, for which I'm very grateful after 3 weeks of nothing but ups and downs.

Re: Trying not to get discouraged! Help!

I was getting discouraged. And thanks for all your help!! I just have fell in love with this place! Its made it alot easier to go through with this. Hearing how ya'll are doing just gives me that extra push. And you also learn your not alone!!
Today is day 36 for me. I was at a standstill. I got up this morning and I could just feel it! I knew that I had lost something. I felt well umm, skinny LOL! So I jumped on the scales and guess what? I lost another 2 lbs. Before I would have never gotten so excited about 2 lbs, but today its different! I'm just so happy they finally moved! Its just enough to keep me going foward!!
