my fat % seems to be between 70 and 76% most days - is this okay or do I need to get it down to 65 - my carbs are always 5%.

    Re: Fat %

Eat some chicken breast or maybe tuna. A little change with protein will change the fat % a lot

Personally, the higher my fat percentage the more weight I lose. See what works for you!

              Re: Fat %

Looks good - your protein % is really dependent on how much exercise and activities you do. Your body needs the protein to rebuild the tissues after hard exercise. Excess protein can be turned to glucose and slow weight loss, so you are trying to find the right % for your activity level.

                Re: Fat %

I wouldn't stress about getting the percentages perfect. Just eat right for your Atkins phase and feed your hunger only...if you do that, the percentages will tend to look out for themselves. They're only a guide.

                  Re: Fat %

kent - so it doesn't matter if the fat % is higher as I don't exercise much - so don't need so much protein!- do I get away with that?

                    Re: Fat %

I would flip the question a bit. Why aren't you exercising much ? Sorry about that attempt at humor. If you aren't working out, your protein % can be lower, but I still wouldn't let it drop too low. The protein in one's diet is also part of appetite suppression, so keeping it low might be subverting some of the success.
                    I hope this helps.
