  • protein shake question

i found a chocolate protein shake that is sugar free, but i am wondering if it is induction safe. here is the info on it.

    I-MMIX (MRP) from KLIK

    serving size 25g
    calories 92
    fat 0
    carbs 3
    dietary fiber 3
    protein 19g

it list the ingredients as: whey protein isolate, soy protein, isolate, inulin, natural and artificial flavoring, acesulfame potassium, and guar gum

i am wondering if this will be good to mix with heavy cream, cream cheese, or even just water (as they suggest).

thanks so much for your help!!! good luck

no whey and soy arent on the induction list.

though youve only got 22 pounds to go, shouldnt you be heading on up the OWL ladder now? Of course its your choice its just something i picked from your stats

Sorry--this shake is not legal for induction, and the shake will not be legal until rung 6 of OWL. Any soy products (with the exception of tofu, as that is considered a soy cheese) are not legal until the legumes rung, rung 6. The other questionable ingredient is whey protein, which will not be legal until rung 2, dairy.

Whenever a food's "legality" comes into question, check the ingredients. And as always, if it's NOT on the acceptable foods list, don't eat it!

But like Emma said, you can use cocoa powder (it's considered a spice) and blend that with ice, cream cheese, heavy cream. In fact, since tofu is allowed, I'd recommend making a smoothie/shake with silken tofu, heavy cream, water, and a few drops of flavoring/extract. This is how I make smoothies--I don't even use the protein powder, as the tofu has lots of protein.

One extra thing to consider when you do reach the correct OWL rung where your protein shake would be allowed is to make sure you add some fats to the shake so you dont end up drinking too much protein!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
