  • In the pink and not losing...help?

    Hi All --

Day 14 and only two pounds. The Ketostix register me consistently in the mild to moderate range of ketosis.

Could two glasses of wine and a handful of nuts and a little ketchup here and there over two weeks have caused this?

I've now purchaesd low-carb ketchup, and I like it very much. I can't imagine, though, that with havng completely shfted from a carb-laden diet to 20g of carbs a day and the right kinds of vegetables, that I wouldn't lose more than 2 pounds -- when I started at 242!

    Any input would be welcome.
    Started again: 10 November 2007!

    No stats for two weeks.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten...

I am quessing that you are still in Induction since you mention "day 14". But you posted here in Extended Induction?I would imagine that the foods you listed would not help you. You sound like you are still in Induction and you shouldn't be having ANY of thoses foods at all. You should do a CLEAN Induction which is eat only the foods allowed and make sure you do not go over the 20g carbs per day. The wine and nuts plus the vegs you are eating is putting you over the allowed daily carbs.
Those foods are intended for OWL and later wrungs.

Buddyjay is right. Alcohol and nuts are not for induction. Also... if you drink alcohol your body burns this as a first choice, hence slowing weight loss. Another thing about alcohol is that if you drink, it will alter the ketostix reading and give you purple when it mighti not otherwise have registered purple. The ketostix are only a guide though, and many people get to goal without ever having registered even the mildest pink on them.
