I feel like a country song today. I started my weight loss plan on April 2 and have lost 8 lbs, depending on time of day. Up until now, I have been pretty darn faithful - not a drop of sugar, not a bite of bread ......and for the last seven days, I have had a terrible "nervous stomach," the kind that is persistant queasiness with bouts of emergencies when I eat. I am thinking perhaps I had a bad salad since I eat more salad now that in my lifetime.

But I have no idea why I have such a shaky, nervous, queasy, uneasy stomach - do bugs stick around more than a week?

Anway, I ate a McDonald's sausage biscuit with egg today. It was my intention of ONLY eating the egg portion and perhaps the sausage...I separated everything, asked for a knife and fork.....and then at the end, I threw it all away and ate the da#% biscuit.

    I feel bad.
    My stomach is miserable.
    My weightloss is slow.
    And, I caved.......which I was shocked afterwards.

Question? Where is the beginning and what is the middle? Can I just keep going?

Stuck in with a big, shaky middle in the Midwest.

DO NOT come down on yourself.

I have been there where I had that all or nothing attitude and once I slipped one time I gave up on the whole thing.
Don't do it! Get right back on track because everyone loses at different paces, but it will come off!
Smile, pick yourself up, and start planning meals for the week ahead.
When I did induction the first time, I never came off 20 grams a day so I didn't allow myself to progress. Maybe you need to move onto OWL so you don't crash to eating that stuff again, because that is exactly what happened to me. I stayed on induction for 6 weeks and lost 21 lbs, but once I ate something off plan I was all done, because I didn't progress through the way I should have, and I had the same amount to lose as you.
Now I am starting all over, because I let that 1 slip up define my whole program and ruin it!!
Don't do what I did, don't beat yourself up, just know you made a small mistake and you you get yourself back on track, and don't look back.
Stay strong and see the end result, yo0u can do it!!

To answer your questions, YES you can keep going, absolutely! You just have to kick your body back into ketosis, bit that is so ok! It is way better than never going back to ketosis. In a day or so you'll be there and losing again.

Also - did you take starting measurements? If so, MEASURE AGAIN!!
I garuntee you lost more inches than you imagine. Start posting your menu, and are you exercising? Maybe you have a food culprit slowing you down, and we can help because that is what we are here for.

The most IMPORTANT thing is to FORGIVE YOUR SELF..........
Do not give up, believe in your self, I DO,...pick your self back up and start fresh........next get that poison out of your body, drink water, take flax seed, fiber pills, something not severe and get rid of the MickyD's......... Stop eating for the rest of the day today, walk on the tread mill or go for a walk......write in your journal, pray, forgive your self, Tomorrow is Monday a fresh NEW day and a fresh new week........Best Wishes

defininitely forgive yourself (good point sharky!)
Its the beating ourselves up that makes us just want to eat more which is what got us here in the first place

Re: Cheated, defeated and feeling blue

Thanks everyone. You know, it is so easy to be self critical and give up because THAT is the easy part. This afternoon, I walked for nearly an hour with my dogs and a friend and just decided I'll keep going. I'm searching now for ways to introduce Flax Seed meal into my diet.....

I truly appreciate all of your support and know that we all have our down days, weeks, months and sometimes years.

You will be just fine and good for you for getting in that hr walk! YAY
It is easy to fall into a self critical pattern but you are far above that and will get through induction and then adopt this way of life

Forgive yourself and move on. We have all 'been there done that'. Might a make a suggestion to you? Move on to OWL. Your food choices will widen which will allow you to eat foods that not only are legal but taste good and fit your mood. I love my yogurt. It is soothing, creamy and filling. Please dont worry about not losing your weight fast enough. It comes off on some people quicker on OWL. Plus you will learn what foods work and what dont.

                      Abacus,
No one here is perfect. You slipped up..but u acknowledged it and now u can move on!
As far as the queasy stomach. Ive been having that too..i think from the higher fat content of the foods. I think OWL helps by being able to eat more veggies n stuff.
Oh and for flax..i mix it into meatballs and meatloaf (cant even tell its there)..or sprinkle the whole seeds in chicken/tuna salads gives a nice little nutty crunch.
                      You can do this!!

Yep you have to accept what you did and move on. I'm wondering if maybe something in the McDonalds egg/sausage may have set you up for craving more, do you eat that stuff all the time?

Here are the ingrediants in those things from the McDonalds website, as you can see they aren't what they appear to be....

Sausage Biscuit with Egg (Regular Size Biscuit):

Pork, whey protein concentrate, water, salt, corn syrup solids, sugar, spices, dextrose, monosodium glutamate, spice extractives, caramel color, BHA and BHT and propyl gallate and citric acid (preservatives). CONTAINS: MILK

                        Folded Egg:
Pasteurized whole eggs, food starch-modified, soybean oil, natural flavors (botanical source), sodium acid pyrophosphate, carrageenan gum, flavor enhancer [salt, maltodextrin, natural flavor (plant source), spices, herb, turmeric (color)], monosodium phosphate, citric acid, soy lecithin. Prepared with liquid margarine. CONTAINS: EGG, SOY LECITHIN

and the liquid margarine they are cooked in:
