  • adkins for 58 yo and older folks?

I'm 58 yo female and have been in the induction phase for about 5 weeks and have lost about 15 lbs. I have about 30-35 lbs total to lose. I don't know how much of my loss is water only.

I think I heard in the book (I listened to a copy on tape) that older people can tolerate fewer carbs than younger people and must be careful adding carbs back in. (my paraphase)

What is your experience with this? Thank you so much.

Thank you so much. I had hoped there was a list for 50+

Right now I'm eating some fresh fist caught by my husband. He fries little chunks of it coated with corn meal, which is delicious, but not for me now! I took the chunks and coated them with olive oil and sprinkled parmesian and salt, and baked them. I'm really enjoy it.

Weigh to go in changing your 'usual' recipe and making a whole new 'legal' dish!!

And congratulations on your great loss so far

I would suggest starting to read up on how to start climbing the OWL carbohydrate ladder and see how many carbs you can add and still lose.

With another 15-20 pounds left to lose you need to give yourself the time to conduct the OWL experiment before you reach the stage of having to move to premaintenance as Dr Atkins suggested when you have 5-10 pounds to go.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
