  • 40 Pounds!

It took me 12 weeks, but I finally hit the 40 pound mark! I can't believe how easy this diet is, I wish I would have tried this years ago. Thank you to everyone for helping save my life.

          Re: 40 Pounds!

I read in your other post what you eat.

Sorry to tell you, you are doing your own thing, not Atkins. Not eating veggies is not good at all.

                    RE: Confused and Need Help!

I do eat vegetables but was responding to a typical menu. I have kids and alot of times I am running out to a fast food restaurant so I was trying to point out that you can make Atkins work without eating vegetables. I am staying on extended induction because I would like to lose another 50 pounds and to be honest, staying under 20G of carbs hasn't been that difficult for me and I am losing every week. Why change what isn't broken? Since Atkins is working for me I thought that others might be able to learn from what I am doing. I also exercise and drink water, is that Atkins or am I still doing my own thing?

                        Re: 40 Pounds!

Thanks to all the well wishers! This is the first diet that has worked for me. I tried Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, LA Weight Loss and countless others with minimal success but ultimately I would go back to my old ways. I don't even feel like I am on a diet....just eating differently.

                          Great going, Cnbweb

Even if you skip the veggies rung of OWL do make sure you try out the other foods and work out your CCLL in time to spend your 'last 5-10 pounds loss' in premaintenace as Dr Atkins advises, so you can train your body to remain at goal weight without too much trouble once you reach goal.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I just skipped them for that day. I have two kids and a demanding job so I don't always have time for a home cooked meal. Thanks for the advice though, the Atkins book is sitting in both my offices to keep me on track!

Congrats! I realize this post was back in February...how much more have you lost since then? I am just starting and I get excited to see everyones results. I hope when I weigh in on Saturday I see a difference.

This pic was in 2005, I weighed 372.

This was taken October 2007, I weigh 375.

I was on atkins last year in the early fall and lost about 30 pounds. I obviously gained it back...but I know this is the right diet for me as it works very good. So I am back!
