  • 5 pounds and stalled....

I know this is a common thread... but thank you for reading (and hopefully commenting) anyway.

My first week of induction I lost 5 pounds and was satisfied with that...figuring I would lose 5 the next week as well and end induction with 10 lbs lost... not too shabby right?!?

Well...as you can tell from the name of my post... that didn't happen. In fact nothing else happened then or since. (This is week three)

Help. Someone just give me a menu that has worked for them. I have probably been messing up because I like to dip my sausage in this honey mustard sauce (1 carb, <1 sugar). Could that be it?

I finally got out of work today early enuff to go and buy some ketosis strips. After testing tonight (i will test again in the morning like the instructions say) my color is in the middle range. Is that my problem?

Another thing maybe (just throwing everything out there) is.. you know that wonderful side effect where you aren't hungry anymore? Yeah, that one...well it definetly works. I have to force myself to eat and some days I am just too busy and just skip lunch. Could that be it?

One thing I know is I AM drinking the water (even if I have to force it down). I am drinking a freaking Gallon and a half a day with no exception.

Help me! Tell me what to do. I will do anything. I just want to get on the right track and experience some of the weight loss that comes along with how good I have been feeling.

Sorry it was so windy...it wasn't going to be when i started

    Re: 5 pounds and stalled....

Hi Destynie.... welcome. I wouldn't fret too much about a "stall", not yet. My mantra is "if I gained this I would be crying".

I personally don't use the ketostix, if I'm faithful to the list of foods, I know I will continue to loose and feel better. Remember, If it's not on the list, don't eat it! And unfortunately, that includes the honey mustard.

I understand what you mean by not being hungry and not eating enough. That is a real concern, and I find I do better if I make sure I eat lots of small meals. I am a true snacker, and even if I make some ham roll ups, deviled eggs, crustless quiche squares, etc., I do much better. Even with a busy schedule, try and make room for a snack or two.

It's also possible that 1-1/2 gallons of water may be filling you up to the point you're not hungry. I generally consume 3-4 quarts a day, and that seems fo be plenty.

Just keep doing things by the book and don't weigh yourself daily. Try once a week, and one day you'll get on the scale and find that you were visited by the "woosh fairy".

    Good luck on your journey

      Hi Destynie,
I've only been doing this for a month myself... but this week I also didn't loose. Sitting on 200.... Oh, how I want to topple down the other side...! But I know it is coming... and it will for you too. Keep doing all the good things... water, vitamins, suppliments, rest, exersize and relax as much as you can... Stress can keep you from losing too. Also, keep reading other people's posts... this is a long process, and a day by day... moment by moment experience... so hang in there and when the whoosh fairy is done visiting you, send her to my house! lol!

Thank you guys!!!! I will be patient and start to go by the book (no honey mustard ). I am going to try to plan ahead for my day and make snacks I can eat... and it will all work out.

        i know it will.

Thanks again! Just needed a little (extra) support.

((destynie)) Hang in there. Don't forget to watch the salt intake, as well. That's a nasty booger that creates havic over time.

Salt is in a lot of foods, especially meats that are frozen in 'saline solution'. Salt is in a lot of seasonings as well. It's one thing that causes water retention if you eat a lot of. I find that if I'm eating too much of it, I retain water like the Hoover dam...and that's usually about 1 time a month and when I up my exercise.
