  • A question for the ladies ("Period Stall?")

I'm on Day 23 of extended induction, and haven't seen the scale budge in 7 days. I've read all the weight loss is not linear posts, and I know I'm still losing inches as I have a whole closet full of "new" clothes I haven't been able to wear in years. I guess I got spoiled by those daily losses early on in this game, so I'm wondering just how much of an impact my dear Aunt Flo can have on my progress? Maybe I just need someone to tell me to be patient and hang in there!

I gain up to 7lbs around TOM time dont worry about it, stay strong and wait for a week or so to weigh again!

I was wondering the same thing, so thanks for the encouragement *Emma*!

I've been very very strict for the past several days and was so excited to come to work today because that's where the scale is, and I've only lost 1 pound since Friday! (I wasn't going to weigh myself until tomorrow, but I just knew it would be good news so I couldn't resist weighing a day early.)

But I feel the tell-tale gurgling and cramping like I get right before my cycle starts, so I'm hoping that explains it!

Oh, yes indeed... Emma is soooo right.

TOM can definitely add or stall weight loss temporarily. Just hang in there and stay off of the scale right before and during that time.

Hi there, I dicussed this matter with my doctor once and he told me that we burn (women) our most calories the week before our period. It's always a good rule of thumb not to weigh during tom and to weight at least four days after it's over. That way you will avoid discouragement.

You know, your words give me a great relief, as my TOM is getting delayed and I have gained around 4lbs too! I feel very frustrated because I am in cetosys and working out real hard and getting no visible reward. I measured myself last Monday and went down some cm, tho. But, I am scared to regain anything after so much hard work!

Thanks for the encouragement and info. Hughesnet has been down for 3 days and not being able to get back to the boards and check on this was making me nuts! I'm relieved both ways now.

Well, at the end I know that my TOM will not come at least during the next 9 months I am pregnant! So, can't carry on with Atkins I will keep my CHs intake under control tho.

Congratulations! I hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy. I've kind of been missing my pregnant days lately, so it really made me smile to hear someone's great baby news. I hope it's all magic for you - that first flutter, the first real kick, the first really big roll, the hiccups... that's great news, Mom!
