  • Splenda & fatigue?

I'm on week 4 and I've unintentionally cut out Splenda for about a week now. Today I had an iced coffee from Starbucks with my normal heavy whip + 3 Splenda and it was entirely TOO sweet for me. Same with diet cokes (which I consume rarely), I couldn't finish the one I had at the ballpark yesterday. However, I did have a headache all day today and once I drank the Starbucks it lessened. I know it's not the caffine as it has never effected me in the past and I do not drink enough of it. Just thought it was weird, anybody have an opinion or similar experience?

Also, I've been taking naps almost everyday. I get about 8 hours of sleep every night and when I get off work around 4 or 5 I just crash for an hour or two. I feel so tired, anybody else experience this? As I am on extended induction, I'm only eating things acceptable on the Induction foods list with the exception of Macadamia nuts (every other day) and either almond or mac nut butter (daily). I drink a big jug of 2.3 liters of water a day.

    Re: Splenda & fatigue?

If you are experiencing tiredness to that extent maybe it is time to move to the lower rungs of OWL and add more carbs. Many people find they have more energy and lose weight faster once they start the second main weightloss phase anyway!

As you are already eating nuts regularly you might as well make the move formally to OWL so within a few weeks you would be at the nuts/seeds rung and be able to eat them within the plan too.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
