Does anyone know if the nicotine lozenges (or nicotine gum) that people use to quit smoking stall or slow down weight loss? I quit smoking cigarettes just over a year ago, but am still using the darned lozenges. I'm wondering if I would be losing any quicker if I gave them up. (And I need to give them up - you are only supposed to use them 12 weeks not 55!)

Re: Nicotine Lozenges
Ouch. I would definitely say that the lozenges are interfering with your efforts. Sounds to me you haven't kicked your nicotine addiction, you just retrained your body to accept a different delivery system.
check out www.whyquit.com maybe you can get some help kicking the habit for good!!!~Joy

Re: Nicotine Lozenges
I just bought my husband the book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. My husband had "quit" smoking in december but was still hooked on the lozenges. After reading the book, he ditched the smokes that he was sneaking, the lozenges AND the prescritpion meds his doctor gave him. It seems like a great book. Maybe give that a try. Good luck!.

Re: Nicotine Lozenges
Thank you both for your feedback.
I went to the site Joy recommended and it was a real kick in the gut - VERY powerful.
I'm going to try stopping the lozenges cold turkey and if that doesn't work, buy the book runnwme recommended.
I think knowing that this is probably slowing down my weightloss is the final push I needed to give them up!
Thanks again.5'4" Female, 39 Years
