  • Beans cooking process?

Hey, I always had this doubt but I couldnt find the answer yet... well here where I live every week "a traditional family", prepare the weekly beans, in a simple process, boiling water, a bag of beans like .5 pounds, salt, celery and that's it... it takes a few hours... and ready to eat, and save the rest for the week... I was wondering, does "that water" wich people usually have with beans and one boiled egg... Lol., have carbs?
Thanks for the attention. Greeting from Costa Rica! Muchos besos!

    My goal:
    I started Atkins: May 29th
    Breast: 90-90-90cm
    Waist: 78-72-66cm
    Hips: 94-87-87cm
    Body type:5' 2" inches (159cm)
I dont think I want to lose more weight, just complete correctly the phases. I LOVE ATKINS!

Yes, carbohydrates are water soluble, which means anything like beans, pasta, potatoes etc... will transfer carbs to the water as well when boiled.

If you've ever boiled potatoes or pasta or the like you'll notice that the water left over is rather starchy and has a tendency to flare up if it hits the fire on the stove. That starch is full of carbs.

    Best of luck!

Even though the water might not contain a large amount of carbs (depending on how reduced it is)... it would be safest to wait. No point in sabotaging all your hard work for starchy water.
