  • Gained?

    Hi all!

    I have done the extended induction (on my 3rd week) I have lost 17 lbs! The only thing is, I have completely stalled out with my weight loss. I Even gained 6 oz! (I know that's not alot, but it worries me) I have not changed anything in my diet. I remain at 18-19 carbs a day, I eat about 5 small meals a day (more like snacks) and all the food is on the acceptable food list. I drink about 70-80 oz a day in water. And run/walk at least a mile every other day. Any ideas on what could be happening?

    Thank you!!

    It's possible you've built muscle. It's more dense and weighs more than fat. Or your body could be making minor adjustments in order to deal with any number of changes that are happening.

    You're doing great! I don't think you have anything to worry about.

        Re: Gained?

        Sounds to me like Post Induction Stall Syndrome. Something we've noticed a lot around here for people doing extended induction. For someone who has only 36 pounds to lose I would suggest to rexamine your motives for doing an extended induction. Many people feel they will lose more weight faster that way but in fact they can lose just as much or more following the full plan and starting on OWL after two weeks. Post Induction Stall Syndome is a good example of this as one way to break it can be to staart OWL and get those first rung extra veggies in. Once that's done many people find their weight loss begins again.

        If you jut can't bring yourself to start OWL then the best thing to do in my opinion is to just have patience. Continue what you are doing and jsut wait a bit. As Tommorow I'll be Perfect said it often seems like our bodies need to adjust to the changes that have been introduced. Once it settles down the pounds will drop again.

        Also, keep in mind that sometimes our weight stays the same but we are still getting smaller. If you havne't already done it I highly recommend you get a tape measure and write down your measurments. If you hit a weight loss slow down, measure yourself and compare your old figures.

        Good luck,

          Thank you all so much!

          I wanted to extend induction 1 extra week, merely because I wasn't quite set in my ways so to speak. I don't want to fall off the track!

          Waist= 40 = now 36
          hips= 44 = now 41
          upper thigh = 44 = now 38
          chest = 38 = now 34

          You're right, just saw the scale and freaked. I know! don't look at the scale
          Thank you all for your support, I can't do this without you guys

            Ditto what the others said... don't stress the scale... it's most likely PISS.
            But I'm another "move to OWL" advocate.

              How long does it generally take for the water you're retaining to WHOOSH out of your system? I've been drinking 2+ l a day for about a month...and no WHOOSH

                Re: Gained?

                It depends on how much water you are retaining, dot.

                I would imagine at only 8 pounds from goal you havent got much water retention to 'woosh' away!!
                Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                  Huntress,

                  We are on the exact same track! I started on July 22, and I have lost 15 pounds. For the past 3 or 4 days, I have been stuck on 165. It won't budge. I'm exercising, and I admit, I'm not drinking enough water. That time of the month is next week, so maybe that's what happening. 130 is my goal weight also.

                  I'm here with you, so you got to hang in there for me, too!

                    Christy that's amazing! 15 lbs? I bet you feel so much better! We will have to keep in touch and support each other. My goal is next year be able to wear a bikini without having everybody cringe
