  • HELP! Please! I Really need some advise

    Okay, this is day 24 for me. I have not checked my weight since monday. The last that I noticed I was down 17lbs. Maybe more but Im scared to weigh because I tend to get discouraged. The last five days I have been on a diet soda binge. I have had about 5 or 6 can's of caffein free black cherry soda with splenda (Shasta). Today, my brother in-law brought me coffee and I drank about a quater cup. Also this is the week of TOM. Oh, yeah and I have not really been drinking enough water only 2-4 glasses a day. I know this is against all the rules and I know I probably have not lost any weight. Im in the middle of a crises here. Im a soda addict. But I stayed diet soda free for 20 days. I have also noticed the cravings coming and I know that from the soda. Anyway, my question is if I dont want to be discouraged by the scale. If I stop the soda, coffee, and start the water back up today. How long should I wait to weigh in? Also, how many days after TOM does our weight normally go back? Please help. I dont want to fall off of the wagon here but I feel myself slipping. Thanks a bunch!!

    Im a scale-slave too. IN MY OPINION, what I would do is stop the soda, coffee and all that, drink as much water as possible and wait until.....maybe a week from today!

    And for TOM - it usually takes me about 2 days to get back to normal. The day after is still kinda :::ehh::: but after that im back to feeling slim again.

    Wait a week, I know its tough but atleast you wont get on the scale and see the damage that you have done, get discouraged and fall off the wagon completely. You'll be better off the longer you wait.

      Hello 4everhopeful, it's very nice to meet you. Excellent job on the LBS. lost!You are doing most excellent. The best advice I can give you on the diet soda is to not drink it. It encourages other cravings that can become out of control. Also, you are only allowed three splendas a day. On the caffeine, It has a tendency to bring glucose levels down and will also encourage cravings. I have found it's best to go with decaf or do without at all cost. Why set ourselves up for pitfalls? If it were me and I was to quit caffeine, diet soda, and up the water, I would wait a week untill weighing. Also, I wait a week after my TOM is over before I weigh. Every womans body is different, You'll learn more about you and your body and how it reacts to food, liquid, exercise than you will with any other lifestyle other than Atkins. You're going to get healthy, healthy, healthy! Also I would encourage you to buy some L-Glutamine to help you with cravings. I take 1000 mg after my evening meals because that's when my cravings "USE TO HIT". You can take up to three a day. It really helps stop cravings. O.k. Now 4everhopeful, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, lose the diet soda, caffeine, and down the water. Also, you may want to add some fresh lemon juice to your water. It's an excellent cleanser for toxins and a great dieretic. Flush your system out and you will be well on your way to an awesome weightloss. Remember, It's not a race, it's a lifestyle!         Thanks to both of you for the encouraging words. It really helps to talk to people who understand what your going through and also to let you know that it will be okay and the weight loss will continue as long as you stay on track. Nice meeting both of you and again thanks for the advise.
