  • 3 weeks induction

Today is the finish of the 3rd week of induction and 7 lbs down. I am losing sooo slow...I want a woosh like Emma talks about. I have stayed on program totally other than not cutting out all caffine. I have to start taking a steroid today for a surgery I am having later today. I am hoping this does not make me gain. I had really hoped to be at 169 today to be out of the 170's. It was kind if a mini goal for myself. I'm really pleased with my lack of need for sweets. I have no craving what so ever for them and that is a big deal for me. I'm also not fighting water retention like i was before atkins. I drink a ton of water every day. But, I would really like to see less of me on the scale for some encouragement. I have started exercising the past couple of days...so maybe that will help. I have felt quite drained until recently so starting exercise was later than should have been.

How are your measurements doing? The scales only tell you how heavy the fat, muscle, bone, organs, undigested food and water in your body are - measurements will show if you are shrinking because you are losing fat and gaining muscle!

How much weight in total are you hoping to lose?

We can expect to lose between 5% and 10% of our total hoped-for loss in the first 14 days on induction, which would mean someone with over a hundred pouns to lose might achieve 5-10 pounds loss in that time, whereas someone with 20 pounds to lose might manage to lose 1-2 pounds only - how did you do percentage-wise?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Well my first goal would be to 149 which would get me in the healthy weight range. But of course I would like to be less than that. But if I can get to the 149 I would be happy. At 149 it would be more or less a total of 30lbs.

I am also in my third week of induction. I am losing slower than a lot of people on this board as well. But this week I have lost 3 lbs. already. What I did was buy some ketostix and monitor the degree of purple they turn. You want to keep them as dark as possible. The darker it is the more fat your burning. I cut back the caffine, aspartame, salad greens and increased the fat. I also think that I was eating too many calories. Even though you arent supposed to count, you do have to watch your intake. I stopped eating after about 8:00. And I have been drinking 2.2 liters of water a day. My weight dropped right away. Does anyone know why you should'nt stay on induction for a very extended period?
