  • Trying to stay Positive

I am still up 2 pounds after my surgery. I am still doing Induction. I think I am eating more due to boredom. My face is still swollen but I don't think two pounds worth (darn it). I am trying to stay positive but it is tough. My parents are coming for a visit today, I can't let that throw me off track. A loss sure would help me feel better....(come on swoosh fairy). I have not been able to exercise, I would but afraid it will increase the swelling. I know, I know, be patient.....I am lacking in that catagory...I am an only child and I WANT IT NOW...

oh good gracious it looks painful! I'm sure that swelling is worth a couple pounds. Hang in there, take your meds, and feel better

There's nothing like sitting or lying around all day to make you feel bored and helpless/hopeless, is there? ESPECIALLY when you feel pretty crappy, bloated, swollen.

Strenuous exercise might (only might) increase the swelling. Walking and stretching will not. Take a couple of walks around the block during the day - morning, afternoon, evening. If you have a yoga video or find a tv program with stretches, you can do those. If you have hand weights, you can do some arm exercises.

And hang in there! The fact that you've stayed faithful to induction foods is fantastic. When we are physically vulnerable we tend to be emotionally vulnerable, and though you may be bored and frustrated, you have stayed fast.
