  • Question about Almond oil! :D

Does anyone know if it's ok to have Almond Oil when you're in induction? I know that nuts are further down the road of OWL however from the quick bit of research I've done so far I have seen some information that says it's ok to have this sort of oil when you're doing atkins. I'm just not sure when it's ok to have it! Thanks for any information you can provide and I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong area!!

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

    Re: Question about Almond oil!

Athough the almonds aren't allowed on Induction, but Almond oil is... OIL! just like safflower oil, etc... it's oil so I say yes it is allowed. Is it good? What do you do with it? sounds good. Almond flour is good too. I just discovered it! but of course that's not allowed on induction either, sorry... but don't stay on induction longer than you have to... OWL = variety.

      Re: Question about Almond oil!

It's delicious but mostly just a light oil taste to it. We had some on Mozzarella with tomatoes (sprinkled with garlic/herbs). It's got a light amaretto taste to it. Nice and light.

I saw on MSN groups for "Atkins House" that it's an induction friendly way of making homemade mayo. ie:
Homemade mayo (almond oil, olive oil, lemon juice, egg, a bit of roasted garlic, and salt) and 5 hard boiled eggs

      Here's a link

Scroll down or use control F and type in almond oil to find the entry.

I'm thinking it will be awesome on everything. Just another one of the many legal foods that I never tried until now that make a wonderful difference about how happy I am making all the low carb meals that I do!

      Thanks for the reply!
