You can do this! It's hard at first and watch out for the induction flu. It will probably hit around day 3 or 4. It's perfectly normal. Yes, you'll feel like crap but keep pressing on.
Suggestions: First READ THE BOOK..it will answer a lot of questions for you.
Second: weigh yourself and measure then put the scale and measuring tape away for two weeks.
Third: Drink water at minimum 64oz a day! You should also be drinking an extra 8oz for each additional 25lbs you wish to lose.
Fourth: Exercise! Even if it's mall walking! Lift weights, get a good stretching tape...anything that is more than you are currently doing.
Fifth: Keep posting and reading the Induction board. We'll keep an eye on you and help you along.
Sixth: Ask questions! We're here to help!
Take care..Here's a ((hug)) :hug to help you on your way!

Atkins is a way of living, for life so relax and work on one thing at a time.
First, do your homework. Read the book again, at least read the first few chapters. Its very important to understand how this plan works and why it works and what it offers. Underline the important stuff and think about how you will be healthy and thin and visualize that. Sitll in the homework department, go down to the recipe section below. Check out foods that sound good. Look at lowcarb recipe sites, plan a few meals that really sound good to you. You like bacon, have bacon. You like hotwings, you have hot wings, you like pizza, plan for pizza. Also if you can find a cheap carb counter book and keep that handy.
Next look at the calendar and check whats going on. If you have something big scheduled for Valentines Day, maybe start on the 15.
Next tell everyone what your doing. Heck, even tell the postman and tell him if you get any mail that smells like chocolate, to keep it. (Just kidding) But do tell folks to help you. Then grab a buddy, here on the board or a friend nearby.
Clean out your cubboards. Fill up a box and take it to the food bank or a friends house or a neighbor. This is a good time to read labels, but generally if it has flour or sugar or starch, you don't want it. If you have a family, oh well, to bad, they will just have to deal.
Stock up. Go to the grocery store alone and enjoy. Talk to the veggie man They often have recipes around for stuff they are trying to sell. See if they have any cheese samples that you could taste. Check out the low carb products, but don't buy any just yet, come check them out to see what other who bought them think about them. No good paying for something that tastes like cardboard.
Measure your self.
I was watching Opera and she had some women on who had lost over a 100 pounds and one woman said that it was all just to overwhelming for her, dieting, drinking water, supplelents, exercise, so she picked one to start with.
Pick one, exericise. Join the exercise challenge. If you can join a gym or buy a tape or get a pedometer and don't worry about the rest until you have made Exercise yours. Then, go low carb,
Jetta, you can do this, but think of it as a lifetime change and don't worry about those little slip ups, cause in the scheme of things, they are not important. What is important is the rest of your healthy life. :wave :wave :wave :wave

Jetta
Once you've started it gets so much easier , the weight comes off and the cravings go.
It then becomes habit, and second nature.
You can do it.
