  • i just don't think anymore weight is dropping...

i'm not getting any smaller. just don't seem to have lost anything in the last 2 weeks. last time i weighed in, i was 4 lbs up... i adjusted my sodium intake and i went back down to my previous weight the week before, so that was water weight. i dunno, nothing seems to be changing. must be stalling or something... to early to tell. i haven't changed anything up... so i dont know whats going on.

Come on Dan. You and me both, (although I went AWOL for a day or so).

How many times have you seen posts of people on plateaus for 8, 9 or even ten weeks at a time.
You do remind me of myself at times. Desperate for the weight loss NOW, and a little concerned when it is not happening.

Personally, I am now putting it down to exercise. Between doing a running program with my wife 3 days a week and going to the gym on those other days, I am putting it down to building muscle. If I remember rightly, you were also doing quite a bit of exercise. Perhaps that is the reason.

Anyway, take heart from those that stay the same for months, then get a major Whooshie. It will come off.
Also, I think you have been doing this for about the same time as me. We ar nearly at the end of week 6. This is definately going to slow down.

I realise you are trying to compensate with salt intake and water, but stay with it.

    Good Luck

      Great post, Dave!

Dan, I also had 2-3 week periods with disappointment on the scale. You're probably at a comfort weight - a weight you were at for an extended period during your life. Our bodies remember these times. Start visioning the days when you were trim - or how you'd like to look. Let the power of the mind work for you.

      Stay the course.

It is true and please look at the big picture how long you have been doing this and how much overall you have lost ....that is the hardest part of this you see quick drops and then "stalls" while your body adjusts. Maybe you should go up a step to the first rung of OWL and see what happens....before you get frustrated ....it can only do you good!

Are you expending more calories than you are taking in per day? If you don't know, now is the time to look at this. If your body needs only 2275 calories to subsist and you are taking in 3,000 calories in deep-fried chicken wings, you could be having trouble because of this.

OTOH, one month I only lost 3 pounds! It happens. Chin up, eyes forward, and keep the faith!

Here's just one more post to say stay the course. Those 2 week stalls or weight loss hesitations to be grammatically correct are indeed frustrating, but do take heart it is only 2 weeks. You probably didn't add the weight in two weeks, and remember it isn't necessarily a race to goal. (I need to learn from this as well, "pot you're black" so they say) Keep doing the right things and the weight will come off.

so again how are the inches lost doing DAN? you can get validation for your hard work working your Atkins from the tapemeasure when the scalses don't. There are many things that effect the make up of our mass as it changes over time the amount of waste in your intestines, fliuds in your tissues, urine in the bladder, muscle mass gained, hair grown longer etc that could add sclae weight even while fat mass is going down. That is the nature of humans. And that will be the way your weight loss goes some weeks down a couple some weeks flat and heck even some weeks up but the overall pattern will be a smaller you as you work your Atkins to become the maller healthier person you really are.

there is a reason your DANDR says 4 weeks of NO INCHES NOR SCALE LOSSES as the definition of a stall. CAFFLYGAL was the inches queen and the scale crying queen as she morphed her body from a marshmellow to a musclular healther smaller person. SHe lost almost 5ft of inches while losing only 40 pounds. She didn't give up and she used the body fat analizers to know how much fat she was losing while she gained lean body tissue. in one 6 month period she gained over 8 pounds of muslce weight while losing 11 pounds of fat giving her just 3 pounds difference oin the scales but her clothes size went way down!

Now you can be a confident fellow that your Atkins is working the way it should and you are morphing from all that exercise you are doing to become Super Dan or you can worry that gosh darn it I'm a person that has such a freaky body that Atkins principles work and then don';t work for me.

this hesitation is normal for ANY weight loss program and this is where folk say it ain't working and quit. You need to beklieve in yourself and in Dr Atkins as all of us did and you WILL again see the scales moving.

              Happy low carbing.

I agree! Pull out a tape measure ( or spend a dollar or two to buy one) and get over to www.mybodycomp.com and start keeping track of those inches!! I have not been able to make this darn scale move for about 3 weeks...but I have lost 8 inches all over my body in that same time!! I love the scale too...but I am enjoying my affair with the tape measure even more! ;P It's just so much more honest! Don't give up...

Water replaces fat cells as the fat is burned off but we don't see the results until the water is released. If you're in ketosis and following the plan then you will see a difference soon - in inches and in weight.

Just the crazy way it works, Dan.

A buddy, You think you are just all of sudden going to quit losing weight? If that was the case then no one would make it to their goal.

Theres not one post on this board that claims that!

Chin up man....and don't concentrate on it so much!

You still have 2 months to get closer to your goal...I wouldn't worry about that too much though, you have lost so much already and doing great!!! Keep up the good work, and the rest will come off!

I was stuck at 170 for two months plus. But in the last 3 three weeks I have dropped 5 pounds :icondance :icondance :icondance . Your body needs time to adjust to things sometimes.
