  • My First Day of Extended Induction!

Hello Everybody!! Well today is my first day on extended induction so I thought I would finally take the time to introduce myself....every time I do it on the 14-day induction site I always end up giving in and quiting before the 2 weeks is up, however this time I am serious and really doing it!

Like I said today is my first day on induction and so far I have lost almost 8lbs, which is little I know, but hey any loss is a loss at this point. I am amazed that I don't have any cravings and am never hungry. I did Atkins for the first time back in 2003 and lost 50lbs pretty quickly. I am not looking for a quick loss, but jsut a loss. I have been doing low calorie for the past two years and have 30lbs that way, but have been stalled for about year, so I thought I needed something to kick myself back into gear.

Well I just wanted to say Hi, and I hope everybody else is doing great!!!!

    I love

Re: My First Day of Extended Induction!

Hi! I'm on my first extended induction, too. This is my 3rd time on Atkins. Been doing it for 15 days at this point, and I've lost 5 lbs. I am discouraged, but will continue.

My fiance is doing Atkins with me. This makes it easier and harder. Easier because we figure out creative ways to stay on the diet, and we eat low carb together 24/7. Hard because he's lost 12 lbs in the past 15 days! (7 more than me!!) I have heard men lose weight easier than women, though.

One thing that keeps me going is I actually think about the 5 lbs I've lost. I think of 5 lbs of steak or ground beef - that's a LOT of fat off my body!! And since it's fat, it's probably larger in mass than I think.

Anyway, keep at it, man! I like going to the menu boards and see what other people are cooking up for ideas. My fiance and I adore salads loaded with meat and cheese. Mmmm!

Re: My First Day of Extended Induction!

Ive convinced Randi to get over to OWL so now its your turn Star...

I think it may boost your weightloss to add some more veggies in OWL, of course you are in the category where Dr A says, if you like, you can stay on induction, but you dont have to! who got fat from eating veggies? veggies are good for us, I lost far more weight in OWL than in induction, my body likes good carbs!

You can stay on the veggie rung for months if you like, but it would be a better alternative than induction.

Re: My First Day of Extended Induction!

I do agree w/ Emma and have decided to move on to OWL. I liked the idea that I can integrate some more things into my diet.

I am in the same boat w/ you about being discouraged. I have only lost about 7lbs on induction, and I was just expecting more. I drink a lot of water, but I think that maybe I am not eating enough throughout the day. I am going to try to eat more and see what happens, but it is just so hard to eat more when I am not hungry. Ok, well I hope everybody is having a great cheat free weekend!
