  • cream of chicken soup

    does anyone know if there is a good substitute for cream of chicken soup? My husband wants a chicken cassarole I make and it takes cream of chicken. One more quesion....
    If I cook the chicken breasts in cream of chicken soup, can I scrape the sauce off and still eat it, or does the carbs soak into the chicken. I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I need to know. thanks!!

    Why not try making your own version of cream of chicken soup with heavy cream and some chicken stock/boullion and whatever else? My thinking would be that in a casserole you're not going to notice much of a difference vs. eating the soup by itself (whether it's your version or store bought). Just a thought.

        I would substitute heavy cream or even sour cream for the cream soup.
