  • Help me create a menu!!

    I've been doing this for a little over a week now but I have to say.. the past few days I've gained weight which I find hard to believe since I almost have no appitite and I've been eating mostly cheese and chicken. My schedule is not normal, I sleep weird hours, I work nights, I go to school during the day, I take online classes. I think after browsing on here for a little bit just now, I've realized theres no negotiating atkins. Atkins itself may not be the diet I am looking for. I was trying to do Atkins, but a more healthy version. But.... I'm thinking that this may not work well in losing weight. I've eliminated diet soda's and my sweets intake to zero. I've been working out which is something I never used to do. The only problem is the food. I don't really eat much but feel as though a strictly grilled chicken, eggs, tuna fish and green veggies would be ideal. Please help me out I need some ideas as to what I should do from this point on.

    Not sure what you mean here by 'a more healthy version'.

    Have you read the book? 2002 version Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution.

    I don't really eat much but feel as though a strictly grilled chicken, eggs, tuna fish and green veggies would be ideal.

    Why restrict yourself to just these foods? Check out the list of foods you can eat & recipes here on the site. Be adventurous & eat a steak!!! Try some spaghetti squash or cabbage!! Eat some fat!! Don't limit yourself...there are alot of choices! How much cheese are you eating? Allowed amount is 3 oz per day.

    Are you drinking at least 64 oz of H20? You should also drink 8 oz for each 25# you want to lose.

    Maybe posting your daily menu will be helpful.

      There's really no such thing as a "more healthy version". If you're not following the rules as stated in the book then you're not doing Atkins. If you're not following the plan properly, then you've probably found the reason you're not seeing the results you'd like.

      Please before you continue, read the rules of the phase you are in and make sure you are following them. By not following the plan correctly you could be putting your health in danger and at the very least messing with your metabolism so much that it will take months before you see the scale move.

      The best thing you can do is readjust your eating so that you're on plan and then gauge whether or not Atkins is for you.

        If you aren't eating enough fat, you aren't doing Atkins. Unfortunately, lifelong dieters think in terms of lowfat and often shortchange themselves when they start Atkins. Be sure to mix tuna and your eggs with full fat mayonaise (buy the lowest sugar content available!) for tuna salad and egg salad. Use celery and onion and other veggies. Raw veggies are great on the go with a Ranch dressing dip. Mash up cooked cauliflower with cream cheese. Eat a salad every day. Do Dr. Atkin's version (DANDR 2002) of Atkins and not "Goal65's" version. His will work better for weight loss. Are you exercising? drinking water?

          yeah.. im exercising and drinking my water. I just dont if i want to eat all those fats but i guess i'm going to.. i did it the first time and lost 80 lbs so i might as well do atkins the right way to achieve the results.
