  • sugar alchohols be careful....

    I have been steering clear of sugar alchohols I really hadnt eaten any so far in this WOL. well I got a valentine with low carb candy I figured what the **** I will eat a couple pieces..well they didnt agree with me at all. so all the stuff I read about some people having adverse reactions is true in my case at least..

    they dont agree with anyone!! lol it was probably russell stover which taste delicious!!!! but, the after effects arent too delicious! lol i had some candy from RS today too and i paid for it lol steer clear of malitol!! lol well every once in a while as a treat - if youre willing! lol

          okay.. today i had a protein bar .. SMORES bar which is VERY VERY GOOD. It's all sugar alcohol and no sugars. It made me go to the bathroom but i also noticed.. i CRAVED carbs MORE than i ever did before. i was miserable the WHOLE night. ALL i wanted was carbs.. to the point where i like wanted to punch a hole in the wall lol im ok now i had some bologna. CARBS are EVIL!!!! SUGAR ALCOHOLS ARE EVIL TOO!!

            my wife bought me a box of sugar free chocolates for v-day.

            I ate one, tasted okay.

            No ill effects. However, I do not have the sugar cravings or tummy problems that many others here have had.

              I am not sure where I read it but I did read on a lowcarb website that if the SA's dont affect you then you should count ALL the carbs as your body is digesting them like it would sugar :yikes

                Thought it was me....

                I found this wonderful bag of Chocolate Covered Almonds that said it only had 1 carb per serving. Well I ate them and shall I say they did not agree with me. I am staying away from now on, but they were good when I was eating them.

                I thought it was just me since I haven't had chocolate in a while. Guess not.

                  elizellen is right.

                  If you do not have issues digestion-wise, you have to count every one of those carbs, and not just the "net" carb, because your body went and absorbed the whole wonky thing!


                  Also, did you know sugar alcohols come from fruits such as pineapples? Would you eat pineapple on induction? I wouldn't wat it's sugar alcohols either.

                  Noooooooooo noooooo.
