  • lost 9 lbs but don't see a lot of loss in inches?

I am in my 3rd week of induction and have lost 9 lbs but my inches have only moved by 1 in every place~ is this normal?? I have been excercising and following DANDR religiously. I only have 10 lbs left to go and prefer to stay in Induction because I am getting ready for a big tropical vacation in 6 weeks and want to get the rest of the weight off. Any thoughts???

Some of that, possibly 70% or more of it is water weight. But the fat WILL come off.

You lost 1 inch everywhere that's wonderful you should be proud of yourself :icondance :icondance :icondance :icondance :icondance WAY TO GO!!!!and that is so normal being so close to goal and all. The closer you are to goal the harder it seems to be to get the weight off. It will come off but, you are gunna have to be really dedicated drink your water eat your veggies and no cheating period.

You've lost half your weight to lose and an inch in each measurements -- that should be cause for celebration. Your goal weight might change if what you see in the mirror is not 10 pounds away. I would however start thinking about how to measure when you should be entering OWL. To me, I think you'd be much more successful on your vacation if you started beforehand rather than maintaining Induction throughout or jumping straight to maintenance.

What was your plan for your vacation and the WOE? Uping your exercise would also help in reducing the inches all over.

thanks for all of the support! I am planning on entering OWL a couple of days before vacation (when I will hopefully be close to goal). I just can't figure out why the inches are not moving even though I am at the gym doing cardio 5 days and strength training 3???

Your body will have a spot where it doesn't lose inches where you are measuring we can't measure everything. I'm sure you are losing in other places especially with the workout you are doing. Don't worry it will come when you exercise your water retention does go up a bit to repair muscle tissue and I also read that your blood volume increases which I didn't know that is some of the reason that you may not be losing inches. I hope this helps 2BIG could help more she is a wealth of information.

Have you tried on any clothes that didn't fit or were tight before? Have you noticed a change in the way your clothes fit you? Are you new to your weight lifting regimen? Sometimes at the beginning of a weight lifting program your inches won't budge for awhile as your body gets used to it and then "wham" you'll have a big change :yes

Honestly..I think you should look a little more closely at moving into OWL and possibly read the OWL, premaintainance, lifetime maintainance parts of the Atkins book...

Going from induction to OWL a couple days before vacation is going to make vacation HARD to enjoy on this WOE.....BUT if you were to do the opposite (in Atkins part about real life eating on this WOE) he talks about once your in OWL or the higher steps to take a week of induction before a big occasion to allow yourself a little leeway. SO.....you could start working on your OWL now, continue to lose the weight you need to lose, get to know your body and what you can eat and STILL lose weight, get used to having more choices and options instead of the strict induction..that way on vacation when items are placed in front of you or you have to order food you will already be COMFORTABLE with that and KNOW what choices are good/bad for YOU...then a week before vacation you could do a week of induction..then OWL on vacation and CONTINUE to lose while on vacation

In my opinion if you do it the other way around, stay on induction for the next 6 weeks (in that time you might get bored of the food and accidently get higher in the carbs & slip up) - then on vacation you'll get a little taste of something and possibly go off the deep end..you wouldn't be on OWL long enough to know how to eat this WOE...honestly...I hope you'll just consider other options and READ THE BOOK..it made a BIG difference for me :nod

              Just a thought :hug
