  • Eating until I hit the right number???

Hi, I asked this question in my older thread, but I would like more people to see the question. My BMR is 1600, and I am only eating about 1200-1250 a day. Am I supposed to eat until I hit that number? My carbs are about 10-12 a day. I am using fitday to follow what I eat. Do I just sit and eat meat and eggs until the calories are added on or what, I am really confused about this.... thanks

    Hi.

You eat until your hunger is satisfied. Your goal is to stay under 20 net grams of carbs and if you want to follow calorie percentages, about 65% of your daily calories should come from fat, 30% from protein and 5% from carbohydrate. Your fitday account will list those percentages in the pie chart and in the table chart.

Fat can come into your diet in the form of oil (like in salad dressings and mayonnaise, the oil you use to cook your food, butter you put on veggies, and cheese). There's also a percentage of fat in meat and eggs. 1 tablespoon of olive oil has about 100 calories. Fat also contain more calories per gram than protein or carbohydrates. PLUS, it's the fat in this diet that drives the weight loss---not the amount of protein you eat.
