I woke up this morning and I am spotting. I am on bc and never spot. I am not due for TOM till next week. I heard that spotting means you are burning more belly fat. Anyone know if it is true?
thanks
shannon
as you lose weight the hormones in your body will change. therefore, the strenght of your bc may need to be changed. Last month i went 15 days in between tom. i have to get stronger bcp because my body was producing the right levels where as before they were lower.
i tell you that because if that is the case for you then there is a chance you can get pregnant. if you havn't missed a pill call and ask your doc....they can tell you what they think.

Shannon, I am experiencing the very same thing. I've been trying like heck to get permission to access the womens forum to discuss this issue, but I still haven't received permission yet. Very frustrating since I've been trying for three days.
okay we will just have a female topic out here okay?
estrogen is stored and created in fat cells yep not in those ovaries but in the fat cells. Insulin can hinder estrogen production.
so when you lose weight lots of changes going on. estrogen stored in the fat cells comes out, more estrogen can be produced IF your estrogen was Insulin resistance impared like many PCOS folk's are so the androgen precursor molecule for estrogen is being converted more and poof you get less male expressed characteristics if you were a female.
Since estrogen production levels run on a negative feed back loop the higher levels will eventually level off at a level your body has determined based on your genetic make up but in the meantime you got more estrogen doing it's thing so you really need to discuss with your doc your BC plans as you could get a surprize.
Wow 2big4mysize, I was very impressed with your explanation. I admit, I had to read it a couple of times though to make sure I was understanding it correctly. All the medical stuff sometimes leaves my head spinning.
Thank you for explaining this to those of us who are/were worried.
