  • That Was A Close Shave !! Help Needed

    I have not been on the forum for a couple of weeks .... I got into a regular way of eating, (not thinking to much about carbs, but feeling happy that this was a atkins friendly menu) breakfast: .. 2x low carb sausages fried egg about 6 small mushrooms and half a fried tomato, Lunch: bowl of low carb soup made with cauliflower, spring onions, turnip, cabbage, garlic and a low carb stock cube (knorr) slices of ham with mayo Dinner: chicken breast served on iceberg lettuce and a cream tarragon sauce, sugar free jelly and wipping cream with spoonful of splenda. I do not drink caffeine, i drink ... well maybe I dont drink as much water as I should ... sometimes 2 litres a day ... sometimes less. My daughter goes intio restbite care once every 5 weeks, normally I would treat myself to a take away and wine.I never had the take away but i had a couple of glasses of wine. I also had a night out with a close friend (she was amazed at how well i looked) I ate very well but the cream on my steak may have had flour in it also after a good few vodkas I ate a couple of toffee's !!!!!!!!!! I cant believe I done this to myself ! anyway I have now struggled to get back on track again ... only today has my ketostiks showed a small sign of ketosis.

    I would love someone to read over my menu and tell me what i can add or takeaway.....
    I really thought about dropping atkins altogether this week the cravings I had were terrible ... I am just in from getting my shopping and its all atkins friendly I live to see another week .......

    I have lost more weight then my ticker shows ... CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO CHANGE IT ... I HAVE TRIED THE WEBSITE BUT FIND THE INSTRUCTIONS HARD TO UNDERSTAND.....

    Well, if you wanted to get really clean I would cut out the artificial stuff like the sugar free jelly and such and DEFINITELY drink more water. If you are like me, you dont want to start having little "acceptable slips" because that just leads to more for me and I fell off the wagon so instead of me celebrating being close to goal right now, I started over mid - January.

    Do you put your food in FitDay.com? It has really helped me see what is going into my body. It is aggravating at first but once you get the hang of it, it is a fantastic tool.

    As far as the ticker, I can never get mine to be "clickable" where you can go and update it. I just delete it and make a new one. Maybe someone can enlighten us on how to fix that problem!

    Also, try to be here if you can. I think the encouragement that you can get on a regular basis will help you stay on track. I know know it has helped me greatly. I couldn't have done this all by myself and I am grateful to all the people who have helped me.

      thanks pocelain for your help. yes i think we are alike that I know that I can't slip often and certainly not with something big .. or i would never get back on track ... im an all or nothing girl !!

      I will stop my jelly ....

      fitday.com is news to me ... im going to take a look at it now

        Personally, I've read too many posts where people drink alcohol and then that one sip leads to something else and pretty soon they are eating off plan! I'd commit to no wine or vodka for a while. If losing weight is that important and it got a way from you when drinking, it just isn't worth it.

          It isn't worth it to me. I had one glass of wine on valentine's day and I didn't like the way I felt. I had diarrhea the next day too.

            I agree - alcohol leads to either pregnancy or weight gain (in some instances both!!) Don't give up ~ you have lost 12 pounds which is nothing to be ashamed of - actually you should be jumping up and down with JOY!! I know that we are all only accountable to ourselves for our actions - but I look at this board as a tool towards that. Posting daily HELPS me keep on track... Especially when I am feeling discouraged! There is so much support here (as well as great advice) I think it is imperative to use the tool that you have available literally right at your finger tips!

            If you are having cravings - do a search on "cravings" and use the tools that others have found to help cope... or make some induction/carb friendly desserts that you can use in those emergancy situations or even just as a pick me up / pat on the back... Just remember not to abuse them.

              Hi Lass
              It looks as if you are well on the way to getting back on the Atkins wagon

              I dont think there is much wrong with your menus, though as has been said, it might be that the sweetener in the sugarfree jelly is keeping your sweet tooth alive I dont think any UK sf jellies are sweetened with a 'legal' sweetener, so you might be better off making your own using splenda and unsweetened gelatine instead.
