    I havent lost any weight in 8 days in fact I went up 4 lbs. I did cheat this past saturday just the one time. I dont know if that has stalled me I thought I would start losing again by today but I am not ... I feel very discouraged

    You lost a sizable amount in the last 30 days, like 16 pounds. Great progress!!!

    The WOE isn't a race. Your body will lose weight and then it will have to stop and catchup.

    Your weight will not just go down, even if you were perfect with your WOE. You are experiencing water retention, more than likely.

    Be patient and just keep on plan, drink your water , and exercise. Even exercise can cause you to retain fluid, temporarily.

    Hope this helps you. I think you are making great progress.

      The weight bounce is just one of those facts of life with any weight loss plan. Evaluate what you are doing daily, and if you are consistently following the WOE, the weight WILL come off. It might not come off as fast we would like, but it will come off. If you feel you must do something to get the weight losing again, up the intensity of or vary your exercise. It might not be the reason for the plateau, but it certainly won't hurt. Sometimes our bodies get used to a certain workout level, and it needs to be shocked (no not literally ) into doing something else.

        hang in there even those of us that didn't cheat had jagged peaks on our way to geting smaller and healthier. Just work your Atkins, all of it, and it will keep working for you.

          five's post from the weekend:
          well i have cheated twice this week.. major cheats too not just a little nibble. I need to learn not to let stress dictate my life.
          I cheated on two meals. once I went to chilli's and the other I had some calzone.
          The thing that is important to understand is that the way we lose weight on Atkins is science. A little cheat here and a major cheat there will likely knock you out of ketosis. So, Chili's, a calzone and sugar free candies with sugar alcohol can be the culprits. Then you begin the process of achieving ketosis once again by eating as recommended. Each time you cheat, you risk losing more than just a few days of momentum.

          Re-read some of the Atkins early chapters to make sure you understand how this works. You'll save some frustration in achieving your goal.

            Just give it some time. I have been doing this WOL for 8 months. Your body will lose weight once in has been able to balance itself back out. I was stuck at 170 for over 2 months. All of the sudden in the last 3 weeks I have dropped almost 5 pounds. Please do not give up, this WOL works you just need to give your body time. Keep following the book and you will be fine.
