After catching up in my lovely copy of DANDR, I've decided to extend my induction for another week or two. I finished day 14 on Thursday, so I guess today makes day 17 for me. I want to see more results before I decide to move onto OWL for sure. I'm doing great on induction, so I don't see what the harm will be.

Re: Extending induction...
Probably no harm. But there are major advantages in moving on to OWL. OWL will not result in an appreciably slower weight loss than extended induction (losses are going to slow anyway as time goes on, no matter whether you are on Induction or OWL).
For one, there are the extra food choices, but more importantly OWL is that vital time when you learn how to eat. In induction, you have the simple list, and all you have to do is follow instructions - it's easy, it works. No major decisions, it works for pretty much everyone as prescribed.
In OWL you have to make lots of decisions, learn how food affects your body, your appetite, your cravings and so on. Sure that makes it harder, but if you don't take the time to learn those things - and it takes a LOT of time, it needs to be slow - you have very little or even no chance of maintaining you weight loss.
Dr A is very specific about doing pre-maintenance for the last 5-10 pounds. That leaves you with about 30lbs to lose on OWL. If you do OWL each of those pounds will teach you something about yourself. While you lose on induction you learn nothing about the way of eating, unique to you, that will enable ongoing weight loss and later maintenance.
It won't do harm to do extended induction, but since you are not showing any signs of having a high metabolic resistance, there is no advantage to it either.Kate

Re: Extending induction...
At the risk of being crucified here I'm going to tell you that last time even though I moved on to the owl levels and knew I could have more carbs I rarely went over the 20 grams... I just added different menu choices I tried many times to go over the 20 but never quite made it, except on a few occasions. This time however I'm going to try harder.31/F/5'7"
