ok if something has 11 carbs 6 fiber and 5 sugars not sugar alchols but sugars..does this mean you should add the carbs and the sugar and then subtract the net fiber

No, the sugars, like the fiber, are part of the total carb count. So in your example, you would subtract the 5g of fiber from the 11g of total carbs. The remaining 6g are sugars. But the sugars cound be natural sugars like in milk or fruit, they don't have to be table sugar or corn syrup for example.Female

That's right ... if it list sugar at that level, clearly the product should not be consumed.
