I started the atkins on monday, and it was going well until tonight.I ate a fish from the chip shop and a sausage which i know you are allowed to have but they were fried with batter on each of them. I feel so bad as today ive probably had more carbs than normal. Also had a kit kat...nearly forgot :yikes ahhh! I need to lose a lot of weight as im 200lbs and want to get to 150lbs.I running out of good ideas to eat though and i dont want to get board. I am a full time student in my final years of my university degree and i have little time to prepare things anyone got any advice. Also has anyone had a bad day out of the week and still has effected them in thier weeklyway. AHHH i need reasurance. :help thanks for thesupport guys. :hug

Now look here my lil Geordie, don't beat yourself up.

The chip shop is the work of the devil and battered sausages his offspring, I know this to be true.

The kit-kat... well what can I say .... A KIT- KAT!! you should have gone the whole hog and had a battered deep fried mars bar.....

Seriously, put it behind you and start over.

I've been on induction 3 and a half weeks, 18lbs gone, I did wander into the arms of several glasses of red wine at end of week 2, I survived though and still losing now, slowed down a bit, but I got straight back on the waggon.

If you can get to 1 week and if you are like me, your cravings will go , your appetite will go and you will find it easy to keep going.

I use lumps of cheese and boiled eggs for snacks, although I find I don't need snacks now.

Keep gpoing and you will see it works.

awwww :hug sorry you had a bad day- now get up and dust yourself off and try again- you can and will suceed at this you just need to know that this works and that your goal is achieveable as long as you stick with induction the right way- go to the menus forum or recipeis and try to find simple things there to make, you can have salads, or sandwich rolls9 made w/ lettuce instead of bread, you can have veggies, or omletes, try different things and you will find what works best for you- and remember to not give up on atkins or this board because they both work great- oph and drink lots and lots of water tooo

And next time everyone goes to the chippy order chicken breast - usually that is the only thing they sell that isnt in batter!! And you could get a couple of wallies or a pickeld egg too!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            o well, just come back....

i'm not sure how you feel about chicken but it is the only meat i eat. I was at walmart and in the chicken area you can buy pre cooked chicken. Its not the kind walmart makes, it is by tyson which is a good brand. But anyway, it is pre cooked and so good. Try it out for fast ideas.

            good luck

Thanks for all of the advice guys it greatly appreciated :yes I just hope what i ate today will not effect my hard work so far as i did really well up until today. Is the batter and is the batter around chicken nuggets really bad? as i thought maybe it can be used as part of your carb allowance?

I need some more help if any of you are still there. I would like to go for some alcoholic drinks with my boyfriend tommorrow is that possible on induction or not? is there anything i can have that would be ok, prehaps just spirits alone or diet coke.

Have a good night everyone :hug :hug :hug

Batter usually has flour in it which is an absolute no-no on induction.

Alchohol is not on the induction acceptable foods list either and should be left till the alcohol rung of OWL.

Also any alcohol you drink will be burnt as fuel before any fats you eat so will delay any weightloss you might otherwise have.

The safest would be to ask for sparkling mineral water with ice and lemon :hug
