    For what purpose?

I wouldn't reccomend dumping tomato puree on your steak, blech.

i have no idea about an acceptable ketchup, primarily because i dislike it and always have.

    Not much help am I?

I made a tomato suace to go with dinner, was canned chopped tomatoes, third of a can, garlic, spring onions and reduced till it went thick.

    Was ok ,surprisingly enough.

Tomatoes are listed in the Other Veggie list in DANDER 2002. They are limited to 1 cup daily and measured in their raw state as they "cooked down significantly".

If you absolutely need to use cooked tomatoes, I suggest you buy a can of whole tomatoes. That way you can measure these tomatoes in their non-cooked down state.

The other thing about tomatoes is that they are really a fruit and have a relatively higher glycemic index than the other veggies in the Induction lists. So use them with care.

I use Trader Joe's low-carb pasta sauce sparingly. It's got no undesirable ingredients for it, and it's only $1.50 a jar. It's a bit bland, but I spice it up with dried oregano...
