  • I've got a head cold...did i do the right thing? what now?

Somewhere I've picked up a head cold. I didn't make it to the gym tonight for kickboxing because of it. I've been to the gym every night this week so far, and was feeling good last night after getting home. But now I'm getting a sinus headache.

I really debated whether or not i should've gone to my class or not. i don't have time off work till the weekend, but then get 3 days off to rest. Was it the right thing for me to take a night off of exercise? will this make my cold worse? or will the resting help me get rid of it faster? the only thing that hurts is my sinuses and the extremely runny nose is very annoying. I pretty much had to run to the bathroom for more kleenex every half hour at work for the past 2 days. The rest of my body is feeling good from the exercise and has been busy building lean muscle mass- yay!

I'm afraid if i stop exercising i won't keep the cold at bay and it will escalate into the nasty episode i had last winter where my respiratory tract got very infected and triggered some nasty pleurisy attacks which put me in emergency along with some nasty asthma attacks. i dont want that to happen again, granted i'm eating way healthier than i was last year and exercising and taking my vitamins and drinking a ton of water.

i was really feeling draggy and tired after work tonight, but definitely stressed about not working out. i hope i don't get sicker and am just not sure how to fix it. missing work is not an option, i have to sit at my desk and answer the phone all day and fix people's computers.... :sadblinky urplequ:

take some deep cleansing breaths to keep your mucus from building up in your lungs. keep moving around to break up any congestion drinks losts of water to keep the secretions thin and let your body clean it out by coughing it out. unless youhave a dry unproductive cough you should allow it to proceed as they will help you the most keep from geting a nastier illness.

If you feel like exercising then do so if not reast but keep moving around to keep breaking up your congestion.

    Happy low carbing.
