The impatience is due to human nature.

If you want to keep the weight off after you've lost it, go through the phases as Dr. Atkins spelled them out. Each phase teaches you something about your body and its reaction to food. The folks that skip these phases seem to be the ones who post the "help" questions in the Maintenance board (or are the ones who reappear on the Induction forum after 6 months to a year because they regained it all back)

I think what happens is that we go through that initial big loss during Induction, then we have more nice losses, and then we hit that point where our body pauses and we don't see number drops, or much else happening because it has slowed down so much. It's like a roller coaster, and all the big hills are at the beginning of it, and the rest of the ride are just slight slopes...YEEHAW!..and then..ZZZZZZ! You are getting there, you're on the right track...but it's just slow.

I've been antsy lately myself, and what I do to keep myself calm is to just think ahead. I have a trip back to my home town in April, and I was over 40 pounds heavier when anyone back there saw me last! I have a wedding to go to in Aug...and I know I'll be a smaller size then, so I'm focussing on enjoying shopping for a dress. I'm excited about next Christmas, and how our Christmas pictures are going to look!
