  • Just not hungry...

Started Atkins the first week or so of March and have done great. I have lost a total of 12 pounds since starting.. But herein lies my problem. I am just not hungry at all. Not for anything... I have never eaten breakfast in my life, makes me gag eating anything before noon.. I do take my Synthroid first thing tho' with a cup of water. But my thing is this: Since I stopped drinking the diet sodas and started Atkins I am just not hungry. I know I need to eat but I just can't seem to make myself eat. 12 pounds is awesome, but I feel I could lose more if I were eating more.
My day is kinda as follows, so if anyone can help me out, PLEASE do so!!!
Breakfast: nothing but synthroid and 2 bottles of water
Lunch: A small salad with iceberg lettuce, a boiled egg, cut up, a little cauliflower chopped up, and some cheese sprinkled over and a dab of Ranch dressing
Snack: Maybe a bite or two of some popcorn or a turkey pepperoni, maybe a slice of soy bacon
Supper: Maybe a bite or two of a soy burger/chicken or turkey and an even smaller salad than at lunch...
Water throughout the day and only water. I do take a multi vitamin with no iron, but can't figure out why I am not hungry.. I do yard work and ride my bike for 30 minutes every day, or most days, so you'd think I would be hungry, but I am not... I know if I were to be eating more, then I would be losing more and my body wouldn't think it was starving... HELP!!!!

    Re: Just not hungry...

I wasn't hungry in the beginning and I'm not as hungry now as usual but I would think you would get hungry from the yard work. By the way popcorn isn't allowed on Atkins. Try making your salad bigger and adding ingredients to make a chef salad, or add chicken or tuna salad to it.

Im the say way I have been on Induction since 3/25/08 and I notice after 1 week on diet I have no cravings Im eating right but there has been days where it may be 1pm and Im rushing to try to eat something.Ive been totally committed to this diet but dont understand why Im never hungry. In the past if I go a couple hours without eating I get a headache but now I have no headaches.

        Re: Just not hungry...

I'm not hungry either, but I do try to eat three meals. I wake up around 6:00a.m. and I'm not ready for breakfast until 9:30a.m. I've noticed that if I wait until my body is ready to eat it's better than skipping it and moving onto lunch. I'll have lunch around 2:30p.m. and dinner is around 5:30p.m. or later. That's it for me, I don't snack throughout the day.

I'm the same as Nichole. Our schedules are pretty much the same, although my dinner is around 7pm. I don't snack either.
