  • Brickwall-Coffee???

    First post on here.
Quick history -I did atkins a few years back and lost 40 lbs, so I thought Id do it again.

BUT- I am having a hard time, and it doesnt seem as easy as the last time. I am doing everything right, very little carbs. First two weeks dropped 8 pounds, now almost at the end of third week and I hit a brick wall. I'm looking for some guidance, I enjoy my Coffee, and didn't want to give it up, usually have cream no sugar. Do I need to give up my coffee? Other suggestions to help?

I'd say its most likely post induction stall syndrome rather than the black coffee. Just keep doing what you're doing and the weight loss will pick up again. Often times our bodies have to take a little time to get used to the weight loss, but will pick up again shortly. I went through the same thing.

PISS happened to me too. If you lost 8 pounds on induction and you were drinking coffee then, I doubt the coffee is suddenly stalling you. Each time you lose and gain weight, it becomes harder for you to lose it the next time. Your body gets wise and tries to hang on more. Of course it is optimal not to drink the coffee and you can try going without it, but I feel pretty sure the weight loss will begin again on its own if you just stick to the plan appropriately. Good luck.

          Hi
I have moved your thread out of the 14-day induciton forum as you have completed your first 14 days on induction.
As others have said, it is fairly normal for the body to stop losing as fast as it did in the first 2 weeks, so you may have nothing to alter at all, and if you eat to plan as normal your weightloss will restart soon.
How much weight in total did you need to lose? Have you looked up your metabolic resistance to weightloss in DANDR?
It might be time to move to OWL rather than stay on induction levels.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
