  • Eating after oral surgery

I need some suggestions on what I can eat. I had 3 wisdom teeth cut out today. So far, I can only come up with chicken broth and V8. I'm sure V8 is not induction friendly, but it has some good nutrients.

    Thanks for any tips,

    Amanda

Girl you might feel okay right now and even okay tomorrow. But, be very very careful. Day three your cheeks swell up like a chipmunk. I had mine taken out right before I started this.....well I should say 4 weeks before I started this and I still have gaping holes in the back on bottom.

Mine were impacted.......I hope yours weren't. Day four and five I ended up back at the oral surgeons to be told I had severe dry socket. They weren't kidding I missed 5 days of work and had to drive in to have my jaws packed with a nasty yellow tapeworm looking gauge for not the 3 to 4 days but for 27 days.

I didn't smoke, didn't drink through a straw, but, I brushed my damn teeth which they didn't tell me not to spit..........just let it fall out.

I lived off of butterscotch pudding and even that hurt. I hope your recovery is better. Get lots of rest and don't talk, laugh, smoke, eat, drink, breathe, spit or move.

Well, I am just figuring out this site. I learned how to search and found someone else had asked this same question. So I got some ideas from that. I just made some egg drop soup for the first time ever. Pretty good, I needed some protein in my body.

Well done for working out how to find previous threads

In case it wasn't mentioned in the suggestions you found elsewhere on ADBB, you can always puree cooked meat/veg and turn it into nourishing soup by adding water/cream and butter to ensure you get some veg in!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
