  • I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO :O( ~ PLEASE HELP ME !

    Hi everyone,

    Sorry I haven't been around for a while but i've been undergoing tests in relation to my on-going battle of why my stomach is constantly bloated, pains and why i'm just NOT losing weight.

    I just don't know what to do ............ I have been on Induction since 30th December 2004 and have only lost 4 lbs. Now the people who DON'T know me are going to say "well she's obviously cheated", but the people who do know me, know what i've been going through with my tests at the docs etc.

    I went to get my blood test results and according to those results my THYROID is fine, my GLUCOSE is fine, my LIVER PROFILE is fine, my RENAL PROFILE is fine, and they also tested me for CELIAC DISEASE and again, they have ALL come back as FINE :no

    My doctor is now referring me to an Endocronolgist to see if it could be anything to do with my hormones.

    I SWEAR to each and everyone of you I HAVE NOT cheated but i'm still NOT LOSING :sadblinky i've even bought a trampette and been jumping up and down on that at night whilst watching tv and i've bought a Pedometer and a exercise ball and i'm still NOT LOSING.

    This is what i'm eating a day .....................

    BREAKFAST every day is 2 EGGS with a little butter and black pepper microwaved with 2 cherry tomatos.

    LUNCH is ROCKET, 4 CHERRY TOMS, RED ONION, 2 oz FETA CHEESE (don't have this every day with it) and CUCUMBER with CESAR dressing or OLIVE OIL.

    EVENING MEAL is STEAMED FISH and VEGGIES.

    I drink black coffee with splenda and water............ i admit i'm not drinking the two litres I know i should be, but that wouldn't explain why i'm NOT LOSING.

    PLEASE HELP ME ~ I REALLY AM GETTING DESPERATE NOW !!

    What is Rocket?

    Have you tried cutting eggs/dairy products that type of thing out of your diet? Just to see if maybe that is what is causing the bloating/etc.

        Ermmm What is Rocket?

        Obviously you guys in the States don't call it Rocket, lol.................. it's green and a vegetable .................... like a lettuce leaf but not a lettuce leaf if that makes any sense.............. I don't know how to describe it, sorry :sadblinky

        Does anybody else know what I mean? lol

        No I haven't tried cutting out the dairy, do you think that could be my answer?

          Hi, Louise,

          Could you possibly have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)? High fat meals are highly aggrevating to people with this condition. Please look up the symptoms on the internet.

          You may want to discuss the possibility of IBS with your doctor.

            So, for your second meal you really don't have any protien then...Have you checked your protien/etc on fitday? What are your calories/fat levels at? Are you sure you aren't eatin too LITTLE?

            I would try the dairy thing...I'm no Dr but it might be worth trying

              Hi Kelly,

              Sorry, I didn't put everything in the message properly ~ Yes I was checked for IBS a couple of years ago before I started Atkins and again that was negative.

              The majority of the time on atkins I don't suffer from Bloating, pains, that was pre-atkins, but my problem is I'm just NOT losing weight!!

              This has been an ongoing problem for 5 years now and that is why i started doing atkins. Even though the pains and bloatedness are much better, my weight IS NOT getting any better.

                  I do eat protein, most days I have either 2 oz of cheddar or 2 oz of Feta but some days I don't have cheese with it.

                  Also, at a friends Gym, they are doing intollerence testing and i'm booked in for the 21st March.

                  I have been told of something called Fermentation of the gut ~ has anyone else heard of this?

                  I have cut mushrooms out completely.

                  What is driving me nuts is that my boss at work who has done Atkins has pointed out to me after seeing what I eat during the day, she says the weight should be dropping off me!

                      Just a thought, but don't tomatoes have quite a high carb content?

                      Maybe you could try doing without those for a little while to see if things improve.

                        Yes Moochie... you're right. Rocket is rucola or arucola as some call it. Darn confusing all these diff names for the same things.

                        I get caught out often, being brit and living in Italy....

                          But would 5 or a max of 6 cherry toms have such a dramatic effect on why i'm NOT losing weight?

                            Could be. Each cherry tomato has one carb. If you also have other veggies with carbs then these could soon all add up. Add the cheese carbs to that too and you could be going quite a bit over 20 daily carbs.

                            I'm not saying that's what it will definitely be but I have steered clear of tomatoes full stop. I shall introduce those quite a bit further down the line.
