  • Totally Staying

I have to stay on induction. I have only lost 9 pounds, and I have like 91 to go for goodness sakes. Well..... If everything everyne here says is true, I know it will start to happen. I am really going to stay focused, and review what I am eating. I am only 2 pounds from my fist mini goal, so I guess that is a plus

    Re: Totally Staying

It will happen. Start making plans to move on to OWL. Write out your menus, exercise routine, and re-read the OWL chapters 12, 13 and 14. Prepare now so you won't get stuck on the induction phase and lose out on continued learning and weight loss. The induction is intended to jump-start your body into buring fat as fuel. Read, prepare and put action into making it happen. Don't be afraid...its a learning experience, you need to learn to move on so that you will know what foods affect you and how much, when and what to eat. I totally recommend keeping a food journal so you can always pinpoint your success. Best wishes.

If I stay on induction too long, will my weight loss stop?

        Re: Totally Staying

The fear of staying on induction is that the food choices are quite limited as compared to OWL. You could become bored with your selections and start to cheat or stop the program. By moving on to OWL, you give yourself more freedom to eat more variety of foods.

Everyone is different in the way their body reacts to extended induction...Dr. Atkins says you can extend it, however as you do, start making plans to move on so you can become comfortable with succeeding on the program for life. If you go through all 4 phases of Atkins, you'll be comfortable in the changes you make and won't feel deprived or bored with the program.

I's consider moving onto OWL 1 which is just like Induction but with 5 more carbs of veggies a day. I stayed on OWL 1 for about 4 months and the extra veggie choices really made it much more enjoyable and I lost at a good pace too.

I don't think I am eating enough veggies as it is.
