    Hi Muffy
    Welcome back

Firstly - take a deep breath

If you have managed to stick to plan for 7 months and this is your first slipup in food choices then you are doing better than many successful goalies did, so don't fret too much.

I am not going to say that the cake/icecream/bread are not going to affect your losing but as long as you get back on plan NOW and make your very next bite 'legal' you will get there in time. You might need to fight cravings and might find you are no longer in ketosis but you will get there!!

Now - what to do next? Have you been on induction net 20 carbs and eating only from the allowed list all this time? It might be that you are starting to feel restricted in your choices, which would make this the time to move on to the next phase - ongoing weightloss (OWL). Starting to add more veggies and then things like milk, yogurt, cottage cheese etc might let you feel more happy with your menu options and help you keep on track.

So once you are back in ketosis start to climb the OWL ladder.

Also you will be starting to discover what your body will do when these foods are added and start to find your CCLL.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

WOW first of all congratualtions on your awesome loss to date and staying cheat free for 7 months!!!!!! Thats awesome and I am in awe of you! Now ....... cheats happen to all of us and the important thing is that you don't let it snowball into sliding way off track ........ buckle down and eat right on target, like Elizellen said you may have to fight some bad cravings for a few days and it may seem really really hard for you because you just reminded your body what carbsand sugars are and it's gonna ask for MORE ....... resist sister and you can win this battle! Just keep reminding yourself how far you've come and how close you are to your goal! Keep on keeping on your doing just fine!!!!!!

You've done awesome to date so a little bump in the road should be OK. Get back on that horse and remain focused. Possibly you will do great in the next week due to the fact that you shocked your system with the sweets. Stay strong and positive. Keep us posted on your future losses. God Bless, Joe

The danger is having a piece of cake, some ice cream and some Dominos junk isn't really a "mistake". My guess is you knew you were doing it. You have done so well! While it seems at times you might "owe" yourself a treat, it can be a slippery slope and the treats become more frequent. Take a walk. Drink some water. Window shop that size 10. Do what it takes, but stay away from the junkie food with empty carbs!

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Just make sure get back on track right now. The first time I did Atkins I slipped up and just kept going and gained all the weight back plus 40 pounds more! If you cheat you need to get back on plan the next day and the pounds won't stick around.
