Week 7 - Start at 212 and now 196, I feel fustrated!

  • Week 7 - Start at 212 and now 196, I feel fustrated!

    I am now in week 7 and have lost a total of 16 lbs. I weigh myself and i go up and down and then 1 day i stay down a new pound. I feel I am losing soooo slowly. I eat what I am suppose to eat and some days I may go over 20 carbs to 25, but i never eat anything bad. Why am I losing so slow???? Also i am in light pink ketosis all the time.

    Maybe it is time to shake things up a bit and move on to the next phase?

    Ongoing Weight Loss is the main weightloss phase of Atkins, so why not leave induction and start to climb the carbohydrate ladder?
    Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
    Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      You are losing over two pounds a week which is really good! I would take that rate of loss in a heartbeat!

        Maybe I should move up to OWL.....I think I'm scared to add more carbs. I'm afraid of failing. Maybe I should focus less of the scale and more on my food journal. I need to read the next phase and start it.

                You have had great success!! I agree about moving on..how are your calories looking? For me , calories are AS important if not more than my carb level-

                  You are also losing weight with food you can live with (at least I know I can). Other programs like Jenny Craig may offer the same kind of weight loss but this is better healthier food. Keep your eye on the prize, although it may take longer to get there.

                  My daughter's friend who lost about 60 pounds on Atkins also went through many weeks with little loss and then said sometimes there was an unexpected 5-6 pound loss on some weeks.

                    Im finding the same thing happens to me. Ive had to give my scales to my friend and only weigh in as a "gage" every two weeks. But its really about a life style change and how my clothes fit and how I look and feel. The scales are just a number...

                      I'm with Aussie...you may be falling victim to the scale! I know everytime I am on a diet...I am checking my weight 2-3x daily. I'm not sure how much you are on the scale...but if it is more than 1-2x a week...this can easily fustrate anyone!!!

                        I know when I stall there are a few things I need to keep in check....most important is my water intake. Pure water only (which is tough for me to do). Other than that sometimes when I see I have slipped near or out of ketosis, I will get physical to burn the hidden carbs lurking in my body that I didn't know I ate! Your weight loss is right on track tho! Congrats!
