    Ketosis and your experience...

    Hi All.

I have been monitoring my body being in Ketosis. I use a canadian product called ketostix.

I find it incredible encouraging to see the proof that I am actually in ketosis.

I would love to hear others opinions and expericenes in using products like this and how they feel about it.

    Thanks in advance.

I will occasionally pee on the stick just for a visual confirmation that I'm in ketosis. Sometime it is just reassuring to see the stick change color.

Yes, I will use the Ketostix a few times during the week. Especially after I ate something and was afraid it had too many hidden carbs!!!

I use the sticks daily. I find them to be a great visual reminder of the progress I am making.

I bought the stix just because I like the idea of being able to "see" Ketosis. I've been an Atkineer for so long that I can tell when I'm in Ketosis on my own. When I see the colors change I get even more excited I think. I use them to gauge how hydrated I am more than anything.

I never saw a colour change once when I used them even though I was losing weight and had the ketosis-breath etc!!

6 years ago when I went on Atkins the first time, mine would only go to the very faintest purple available. But I lost 25 lbs before I messed up then gave up.

They were a real bummer for me. Even though I lost 48 pounds in 3 months and 75 pounds in 6 months, I still only rarely showed even a trace on the stix, so I threw them away. I felt like a failure because the stix said I wasn't in ketosis on a week that I lost 4.5 pounds.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

They were great for me when I was craving and wanting to cave. I would go pee on one of them and see the ketosis and tell myself the cheat wasn't worth it.

SunnySmile501...I think Dr. A said something along those lines about keto stix in his book. Just like the scale, the stix don't tell the whole story. The best way still is trust your loser clothes and the tape measure. Use the others as a guide, not the gospel.

The darn things were driving me nuts so I trashed them. As long as I am losing and eating clean I must be burning fat.
