For whatever reason, I'm just not that girl. And I kinda wish I was one of those people who could go to a bar or hang out with my drinking husband and friends all the time without becoming annoyed. However. That's just not my real life. Right now my reality consists of always being the boring wife who stays home from happy hour and gets annoyed with her husband who comes home a little loopy from having drinks because I am perfectly sober. So-I'm with Seattle. I have to find some kind of way to make this WOE fit into my life, not change my life so that it becomes unrecognizable (and no fun) to me in order to match this WOE.

All that being said, I truly appreciate everyone's help and advice. It's important to get lots of different points of view, and I'm grateful this board affords me that opportunity.

haha, i know! When you're 100% sober, and your friends/significant other are tipsy they get so annoying! haha

I had 3 glasses of merlot last night cause my best friend is in town and a bunch of my friends went with us out to have drinks. I have a headache today and kind of wish I'd stuck with 2 glasses for that reason alone. But...I'm down .5lb this morning, and I'm right back on track today, and I think it'll effect my weight loss very little, if any at all.

Thank you - I agree - about loosening up. I have a HIGH STRESS job that requires frequent entertaining (with a generous expense account). Cutting vodka/soda or wine from my diet was out of the question. I drink on average 2 drinks 2 nights a week. Sometimes more on one or two weekend nights a month (im getting old). If I stall I will cut it down - otherwise I will continue on...

        Re: Day 20...Alcohol

Here I am with my tail between my (still chubby) legs...Between the drinks, (a couple times a week) and the cheat day my husband and I had 3 weeks ago, I haven't lost ONE SINGLE POUND since I originally posted here. I started exercising regularly two weeks ago, and thought that the exercise might give me more wiggle room. Turns out, it doesn't. I'm going back on induction on Sunday. I have a bachelorette party and a wedding to attend between now and then. Drinks will be required. But after that--lesson learned...This sucks.

I think losing weight sometimes comes with some sacrifice even if we do not like to. For me there are things that I really enjoy when it comes to food and I would love to go on enjoying them BUT when push comes to show these are also the same things I over indulged in and that made me obese. Maybe some day I can learn the moderation thing.

Good luck to you Michelle. Congratulations on starting again.
