    Ok...i know this is a touchy subject. I havent bought any flax etc. to try but i just had to take colace. Geez...how bad can it get! Is this gonna effect my losses?

      Colace is a stool softner...(sorry i no this is gross)

      I read the bottle and i dont think it has any sugars in it. I just wasnt sure if it was ok to take.

        well when you get that mass moved out of you you should get a nice loss you'd be surprized about how much poop can weigh.
        As long as you took the pill form you should be fine

        You can start ading flaxmeal one T at a time to see if you can get moving again. Dr Atkins sais natural veggie products so that would be those with sena in them

          Thanks 2big. LOL...i needed to laugh about this

          It's been 4 days...i just couldnt stand it anymore. I eat plenty of veggies etc. but it seems to have the reverse effect on me for some reason. I also drink over 200 ounces of water a day. I hope i get some relief sooN!
          Otherwise i will have to go buy one of those nasty things. UGH!

              I am having a terrible time with constipation also. I drink a ton of water, eat my veggies and salad greens and bought some fiber pills, but nothing is moving if you know what I mean.
              Does anyone else have this problem so bad, and what have they done to make it any better? Thanks.

                I have now took 3 days worth of COLACE and still hardly nothing....OMG i think i'm gonna die... If it doesnt work tonight i'm gonna have to go and buy some Mag Citrate...

                  Be careful, aren't you going to the rodeo days??? Be very careful what you eat or drink while you are there because you don't want any surprises ... so to speak.

                    Sometimes I have those problems as well. Seems in my preAtkins life Cherrios was what helped me along. Anyway, flax is great. I make salmon croquettes with them and to tell you the truth everyone in the house goes well afterwards. Something about the flax in combination with the fish oils. Always a sure fire remedy for me. Might give it a try.

                      If you are badly constipated then a tip I got from Moochicat is to try a glycerine suppository.

                        Ah yes...our nemesis, CONSTIPATION!!! lol I'm not shy to talk about this, so look out, you delicate daisies!

                        I really am glad that I found the glycerine suppository solution.

                        For the benefit of those who haven't used them, they're cheap, they work within 15 minutes or so, and the time to use them is when you know you are ready to go, but your body isn't co-operating. They stimulate your bowel to start contractions. I find that the longer I can wait (and stay in the bathroom, or VERY near it..lol) the better it works.

                        I also find that if I eat peppers ( I will make a meal out of saute'd ground turkey and a mix of red, yellow and green peppers) I will have a dramatic ..uh...'event' the next morning. :icondance

                        And to whomever asked...yes, Benefiber is fine.
                        As with any laxative, flax meal, psyllium husk, whatever you decide to ingest as a laxative, drink your water!!!
