  • dk. purple but no loss

Ok, so I've been by the book all week (and last week - but messed up once the weekend prior) and was planning to move onto OWL on Monday. I am drinking about a gallon of water daily and I feel good but the scale isn't budging. My sticks are dark purple in the AM and pink in the afternoon which I assume is due to the water. If I don't drop anything in the next few days should I postpone going on to OWL another week? Here's what I ate yesterday which is typical: ALso I exercise fairly regularly, run, weight training and pilates.

    2 hardboiled eggs
    1 oz. cheese/snack
4 oz. hamburger patty with 1/2 oz. of cheese on top and 1/2 Tblsp Mayo
teaspoon mustard all on top of a salad. (2 cups)
    1 Tblsp olive oil
    1 hard boiled egg/ snack
    5 oz. roast pork tenderloin
    1 cup green beens
    1 Tblsp ghee (clarified butter)
    a gallon of water

I have lost a lot of weight on this diet before and feel like I know what I'm doing but I'm a little frustrated. Also clothes are not looser. Anybody see a problem? I am only 8 lbs. from goal so I know it will be slow but I really want to move onto OWL. Thanks for any insight, Victoria

Hi there! Did you take your measurements? I bet you're losing inches. I'm losing pounds very slowly, but inches are melting off of me. I'm exercising regularly and fairly vigorously as well. I think you'll find the tape measure to be your friend! Also, looking at your menu, what stood out immediately to me is the lack of veggies! I only see one cup of green beans. You're missing 2 cups of salad veggies. The 2-3 cups of veggies are very important, don't skip them. Otherwise, things look good.

No - I had two cups of salad at lunch. The day before I only had one cup of salad at lunch and one at dinner but I also had a cup of cauliflower cooked in a little heavy cream and curry powder. I always get my 3 cups of veggies in and sometimes go over a bit.

Oops sorry! That's why I shouldn't post while I'm at work! *winks* Go for the tape measure still!

My clothes are not looser so I know I'm not loosing inches. Anybody have an opinion on whether to move onto OWL as planned or hold off another week till the scale shows a loss.

move to OWL induction is only to get your ketosi going if you are a returning out of ketosis person. Aftet you have done the initial 14 days there is no reason to keep returning to induction you fdon't have the gylcogen reserves stored woith all that water for the initial large whoosh all new to Atkins folk get. With only 8 pounds to go your induction expercted loss for 14 days is less then one pounds so move to OWL and climb that ladder.

As you read in DANDR taking off thelat 5-10 pounds is actualy a premantenance job and should take 6 months to do to insute you are not the 9 folk who regain their lost weight in thefirst yr after they reach goal.

            Happy OWLing.

Yeah... I'd opt for OWL if I were you... to see what happens. It's bound to be slow with so little to lose, but then on the other hand, it's bound to happen too! And once the pounds are gone, it won't seem as though is was so slow! :wave

              Happy low carbing!
