How long have you been on the induction phase, and how much weight have you lost during it? I just wanted to get a feel for how long people stay on this phase and the weight loss that people have had during it? I cheated a few days back, so now I am back to square one..But with water, exercise, and healthy eating, I hope to see the inches and pounds falling off soon..My motto is if you fall of the wagon you better get up, or you will get ran over.. :wave

Re: How long have you been on the induction phase?
I've been on since I started in January, cheat free except for a day where I went a little over 20 carbs by overdosing (lol) on green beans.Originally posted by debi1746How long have you been on the induction phase, and how much weight have you lost during it? But right now, I need more variety, and I need a boost, so this weekend I'm going to plan out moving up to OWL, hopefully it'll pop me out of my stall as I've heard it works for some people.
Good motto!!

Each one of you guys are an inspiration
Great Job to all of you.. I have to revamp my menus I have been on the program since Feb 5th..I have only lost 6 lbs..But I realized today I am not drinking enough water, I was drinking 2 quarts a day, and I have never had the correct ratio of 65%fat,30%protein%, 5% carbs..The only thing I have been dead on is carbs..And I have cheated a couple of times. I have to get this around, and reading how well each of you have done, is really a great inspiration to me...I quit smoking Jan 24th and then started the Atkins Feb 5th, the whole purpose of the diet was to get healthy, and not put on more weight becuase I quit...I know there are times that instead of cigarettes I am thinking about when I am going to eat next...This message board and the posts really help..Thanks for your input..

You are doing great hon~just keep it up. Congrats on your smoke-Free decision~I know what you mean about thinking about foods since your not smoking now. I was the same way. I will be Smoke-free one year on March 17. :nodOriginally posted by debi1746Great Job to all of you.. I have been on induction since July of 2004. I have lost about 43 pounds since the very beginning. It's definitely a way of life for me. Believe it or not, I wish I could stay on induction forever, but I'm not sure how long it's truly safe to be in ketosis. Good luck to every one. It can be done!! I went from a size 18-20 to a size 8-10. I feel terrific and if Dr. Atkins were alive, I'd find a way to get to him so I could hug him. :joyKimberley

I can't believe all the weight you guys have lost
Cleochatra your pictures are something else, you don't even look like the same person....Could you share maybe an example of what a day of eating may be for you, and how much water do you consume each day..I really appreciate it .. :icondance

I have been on induction since Jan 3 2005... so far I have lost 28 pounds but I did go off of the diet for almost 2 weeks this month am just getting started again. I had lost 26 pounds from Jan 3 to Feb 10 but then was off till this last Sunday and started again now down 2 more pounds.
But everyone loses differently and at their own pace depending on what they have to lose and their body. Stick to a clean induction until you are ready to move to OWL. I am staying on induction until I get within 5-10 pounds of my goal or hit a big stall then I might try moving up to break it.

moving right along
I officially started about 4 weeks ago - but I did it bass ackwards because I'm stubborn. I did two slightly dirty inductions (coffee, corn, almonds)...The Atkins muses still blessed me and I lost 9 pounds.
For instructions on how not to do Atkins, please see me. lol...
Now i'm on a clean induction and I'm carefully monitoring every carb.
I do not believe in getting on the scale everyday, I think it is counter-productive to the program and extremely masochistic.
I will weigh on March 14th. I'm looking forward to OWL but I'm not ready to go there just yet.

Hi,
I have been on induction for two weeks (and I plan on staying on it for awhile). I have lost 17 pounds so far and am happy happy with everything. I have really adjusted to this way of eating and found ways to adapt some of my favorite foods so they are legal.

Thank you debi. I'm a creature of habit, so for me it's usually the following. I need to eat more veg but the spikes in my blood sugar cause me real leariness about adding too many carbs:
B&L: 5 egg tex mex omlette (shared between breakfast and lunch)
Dinner: High-fat sodium platter special for dinner (1 serving each pepperoni, cheese, olives and macadamia nuts--which are only allowed in OWL, so I don't recommend them to anyone on induction)
